Under The Weather-With What, I Have No Clue

Mon Oct 16, 2006 11:14 am

Came home from work Friday night, and thought I was coming down with the flu. I thought that because my back started to ache, and I got those sore "goosebumps", that I get whenever I get the flu.

But it sure isn't that. I ache everwhere; my lower back has been sore; I've had a headache going from the left side of the back of my head to just over my left eye; and I get a little dizzy and have a little ringing in my ear when I stand up. I found out yesterday my sister has been down with something similar for two weeks.

If I'm not better in the morning, I'm going to see the doctor.

This is strange one. Anyone else ever had anything like that?

All those anti-Bush and anti-Republican threads you've been starting, Bush called Cheney in his Undisclosed Location and had him send a team of black pajama wearing Jack Booted Thugs over to your place in the middle of the night in their blacked out helos and sporty Chevy Caprice Sedans using their X-Ray capable searchlights to infiltrate your kitchen to find your food and water supply and contaminate it with a very rare, known only to the CIA (and the Republican lead Congress), form of spray containing the "headache, lower back pain, sore goosebump, ringing in my ear" toxin developed by the DIA for use against domestic enemies of the Republican Party from Cleveland because it could disguised as putrid waste toxin from Lake Erie and no one would ever know it was a government put-up job.

Is it also your left ear that's ringing? And does it hurt if you press down on the bone behind your ear?

I wouldn't be surprised if you have an ear infection. But don't take my word for it, I'm just a lowly medical student.  Wink

I've been working on a cough since I got back from Oz almost a month ago. I'm going back to the doctor in the morning for a physical and beg for something for it. I would have gone sooner but I've been on the road for work during the week and other than the cough I feel fine now.

Yeah, is that the technical term?

No, it's in both ears. It's not a high-pitch ringing, but very low-pitched. Gives me a light-headed feeling.

Ever get goosebumps when you're cold-well, not a good analogy in Alaska.  Big grin

But you do get goosebumps. I get them when I'm cold. Well, when I have flu come on, I get like goosebumps on my arms and back-and they're sore. It's the first sign I have the I'm getting sick.

Otherwise, thanks for you sumpathy, ANC!  rotfl

Just got over flu myself. Got a great antibiotic. Five consecutive days, two pills a day...telithromycin. Ketek makes it, ask your pcp.

Get well dude.

Sounds similar to Zithromax. Those are good for respiratory infections (i.e. the flu)

Don't know. But the ears are pretty sensitive to lots of different infections. Let me know what your doctor said. I hope im not WAYY off the mark.  Smile
