ITrip And The 2nd Generation IPod Nano

Sun Oct 22, 2006 5:58 am

Good day all!

I recently purchased a 2nd Gen. 4GB iPod Nano and am glad I made the investment! I also have been wanting to invest in an iTrip made for the Nano, but I have only found some compatible with the 1st Gen. Does anyone know if Apple has/will come out with the iTrip for the new Nanos?

Regards.

With a few possible exceptions, all of the FM-related accessories designed for the 1st gen. Nano should work with your player.

The new aluminum Nano is basically just a warmed-over version of the old plastic one.

I've been doing some further searching and it appears from personal reviews that the iTrip is NOT compatible with the new Nanos. So now what I would like to know is when the new iTrip will be available.

iTrip is naff. Get a wired solution instead.

A wired connection would indeed be much better, but if that's not feasible, the iTrip with dock connector should still work with any halfway current iPod. The dock connector is standardized across all iPods which have one.

Apple do not produce the devices,

Keep checking back there and that should yield your answer

I've given up trying to use my iTrip with my Ipod. The FM connection doesn't work properly at all, and the volume is never right. And since I only have a CD player player, I don't see how I can have a wired connection.

That sounds unfortunate... no line in available? (I had made it a point to buy a unit which explicitly had an extra line input, even years before I got an iPod.)

FM transmission is always a problematic way to couple to the car stereo, but maybe your specific problem is more related to strong interference from local FM transmitters than to anything else. A different frequency might help...

I've tried several different FM frequencies, and all of them are f'ed up. And even though I have a relatively new car stereo, I know it doesn't have any audio input jacks, so wired won't work, unless I drop the money to get a whole new stereo. But, that could make a groovy Christmas gift to myself.
