Trojans On Hard Drive; What To Do?

Fri Oct 27, 2006 8:15 am

Hello guys,
This trojan - WinPro 32 (or something similar) keeps reappearing on my laptop. Although I used the Zonelabs security suite and got it "deleted", is it true that some trojans can never get deleted?? Will it get removed or deleted if I completely reformat the hard drive??

Will gratefully accept any advice from the gurus....

Many thanks,

Try HijackThis. It has solved many similar issues I've had with my PC. It is not the typical program which cleans your harddrive after running it. It produces a log which you can either have analyzed automatically online (see below) or at any of the available forums and get online assistance.

Program download: http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/programs.php#hijackthis

Automatic online log analyzers:

Some forums were logs can be submitted and (voluntary) assistance obtained:

PS Perhaps you should first make sure that this is actually a trojan/addware in the first place. Find out the correct name of the file/program (including its' extension) and look it up online (ie, here http://startup.networktechs.com/search.php).

Update anti-virus definitions, turn off "System Restore", reboot in "Safe Mode" then do a complete scan. Robert NWDC10

I can only suggest throwing the machine in the bin and visiting apple.com/store and purchasing the most suitable model from there.
Heathrow has been described as the only building site to have its own airport.
