Your Favorite Vacation Spot?

Fri Nov 03, 2006 10:02 am

For me it would be Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Three trips this year (so far) and one more in three weeks!

Cala en Porter, Menorca in Spain. My family has a villa there, its a great place to escape to when the UK is damp and miserable and I love the whole island. Plenty of little lanes and tracks to go mountain biking on, but no-where is too far that you can't make it there and back in a day.

Damn, I'm wishing I was there now silly

I like this German town 2 hours south of FRA.
It's so relaxing and I love the enviornment. It's close enough to FRA to be in a big city when ever you want.

Istanbul. It's beautiful and photogenic.
You could never run out of things to do and see there and that's why I love it.

Odd combination, but I love New England (especially in winter), and I fell in love with Mylonos this summer...actually, Santorini, Corfu and Dubrovnik(old city) as well.

Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio. 'nuff said.

*For those of you not familiar with Cedar Point, the photo is of Millenium Force, one of the park's top coasters. 310', 93 mph. 80 degree first drop.

At my age (19), anywhere outside of the U.S. is terrific!

My personal favorite is Arizona colleges' Spring Break favorite, Rocky Point (Puerto Penasco), Sonora, Mexico. You have to drive there and can't fly (except maybe GA after clearing customs at some other airport) but it is cheap and has great specials that week, like $20 unlimited drinks and things like that. Let's face it, being between 18 and 20 in the U.S. isn't that great as far as things to do. Too old for kid stuff, and not old enough to legally do the adult stuff that comes naturally... which is why Mexico has become such a popular spring break spot in the past ten years or so (over previous faves like Florida).

Two places:

1. Corralejo in Fuerteventura Island (Canary Islands). One of the best places to enjoy the beach, sun and sand. There are many chances to practise windsurf.

2. Negril in Jamaica. One of the best places to enjoy of people, music and visits.
