Best Way To Rip DVDs To Your IPod?

Tue Nov 07, 2006 1:36 pm

I just bought my fiancee (can only call her that for a little while longer - the wedding is on December 1st) one of the new 80GB video iPods. I think I've pretty well figured out how to transfer songs ripped from our CDs to it, but how do you transfer DVD movies?

I've seen a few things online - freeware and payware - but I'm not sure what's the best way, and what will maximize available space on the iPod's HD.

Any suggestions?

I use PQ DVD to Ipod Video Converter.

Hacked version of course.

Someone told me that only certain programs use the MP4 format, which they say saves more space than other formats. Any truth to this? If so, does the program you use do this?

Thanks!

There are two that I know of, but the easiest has got to be:

put your dvd in, hit ok, its done
