I have not seen the show, but the marching band I am in played the music from the show last year. It was good music, made for a good show.

Cheers,

I saw it in Boston a few years ago; loved it. The audience was on its feet the entire show.

I saw the show on Broadway 2 weeks ago. AWESOME SHOW! I can really really recommend it! It's really nice how they incorporate all ABBAs greatest hits perfectly into a story

Saw it in Las Vegas 2 years ago. It was great. Well worth while (this coming from a man whose wife had to initially drag him to the show)!

You'll LOVE it Trekster! Ignore any critics, just go along for the sheer fun of it all. And I found it all the more enjoyable by the fact that the cast were obviously enjoying it (going by their laughs at the end) as much as the audience.

Saw it in Vegas and LOVED it! Of course, I probably annoyed the seat neighbours by singing along...
And marching band is a wonderful thing they do here in the US! Kids of all age groups are in it, guys and gals, great workouts and upper body strength, leg muscles, breathing etc. I can only recommend it!

Speedbird, what do you play?

I must have seen it about 20 times over the past 6 years, and I am going again just before Christmas (and no doubt will book for another show then)! Call me crazy or whatever but it is the only show that I really enjoy, helped by the fact that I have always been an ABBA fan, and a friend was in the ensemble in a previous London stage production.

As many people will know, it is not the story of ABBA but a delightful story set to the ABBA songs and the chemistry is brilliant. The acting, singing and dancing is top-class, and with different actors often playing the main parts, the show feels different every time I go. Without fail, at the end of every show most of the audience gets up and dances when the cast performs an encore of two songs plus another. You always leave the theatre with a feel-good factor.

 hyper

For me, no show has come anywhere near to the feel-good factor experienced with Mamma Mia. I recently went to Billy Elliot the Musical and the new Wicked, and at both shows I was bored within a few minutes and wishing that I was instead watching Mamma Mia again.

To people like Myt332 who would rather walk on hot coals (or whatever) than see the show, you do not know what you are missing. Mind you, I would not go to a Muse or Madonna Concert for GBP 1 million, so to each his/her own.

If I was gay or mature in my years then I'd go see it  old . Each to their own indeed! I simply can't stand this kind of 'entertainment'.

My gaydar never detects many gays in the auditorium of the Prince of Wales Theatre where the show is currently playing in London.

You were bored because you had to think.

"Wait...what is going on? Oh, there's actually lyrics to these songs that I don't know so I have to listen?"

"Wicked" dances circles around Mamma Mia without any legs or arms.

Oops I was looking at November. I think it was on October 17th. I went back to Europe on the 22nd of October, so it's 3 weeks ago since I saw the musical. My bad.
