Butch Davis Finds New Home In The ACC?

Thu Nov 09, 2006 9:01 am

Nope, Miami hasn't fired Coker yet...however there is a rumor that he will take over at North Carolina next year to replace the already fired John Bunting...

Taking the North Carolina job is a no-win situation. Guess the coaching ability of Butch Davis will now be tested; is he a good coach or someone that inherited a ton of talent at University of Miami.

I hope Coker gets sacked and we can get Butch Davis back. Larry Coker was good, but he won with Butch Davis's recruits. Butch Davis also took us while we were on probation and built us into a powerhouse again.

You want Botch back???
What is it you miss about him, the 99 ECU game? The 2000 UW game? The games that ended up close that didn't need to be?
Botch sucked as a coach, face it. Great recruiter, however had about as much sense as a tomato when it came to gameday.
I'll take Norm Chow. He would be money.
Tedford, or Bobby Olive Garden (Petrino).

Not Botch. Not Botch.

Ya, I remember the 99 ECU Game and the 2000 UW Game. You cant blame losses like that on the coach. Even the best teams with the best coaches lose a few. I agree that he is a great recruiter but if he surrounded himself with a good coaching staff, we would return to glory. I also think Bobby Petrino would be good but I dont think he will leave Louisville after all the success he has had.

his gameday planning was abysmal...not unlike LLLLarry Scapecoker's.
The difference is that Botch had Ed Reed, Santana Moss, Ken Dorsey....etc.
However, Coker takes things to an entirely new level.
Botch was bad, Coker is apocalyptic
I do agree, that with a competent coaching staff, there would be a return to glory, even with Botch as coach.
maybe a norm chow as OC, something like that.
However, my pipedream is for June Jones/Jerry Glanville to somehow end up at Coral Gables.
With the talent in So Fla, it would be an unstoppable juggernaut.
Chow, IMO, would add the same effect.
