Ex-U.K. Official: Extraterrestrial Attack Possible

Fri Nov 10, 2006 11:36 pm

Long dismissed as a staple of science fiction, the possibility of an attack upon Earth by extraterrestrials has been raised by a former high-ranking official at the British Ministry of Defense, according to a recent news article.

Before assuming his post as chief of the directorate responsible for the study of unidentified flying objects, Nick Pope, who headed Britain's real-life equivalent of the "X Files" project in the early 1990's, had been skeptical of the view that UFO's were vehicles from alien civilizations, according to the report. Now, however, he warns that the United Kingdom is "wide open" to extraterrestrials.

This being the Daily Mail, expect a follow up front page headline tomorrow morning warning that alien invaders are taking British jobs...

Maybe so, but aren't they doing jobs Britons won't do?

In America, at least, that's what aliens are doing. According to President Bush, that is.

Nonsense. These aliens turn up in their spaceships, and end up on benefits and coming over here for free medical treatment. It's a disgrace.

Obviously a slow news day. sarcastic

Only one thing surprises me more than the rediculous scare-mongoring the Daily Mail does, and that's the fact that people buy the rag. banghead

Would that make Nick Pope wrong, though?

Too late!

We're already here amongst you earthlings!

We have infiltrated your religious leadership, governments, educational systems, military forces, even your business and economic spheres! It will not be long before we totally control your world!

Be very afraid!

Signed,
SmithAir747 and fellow aliens!

Let's face it, if an alien race has the technology to travel over billions of miles to get here, they've probably got the technology to give our sorry collective asses a damn good thrashing.

Even Uncle Sam and Mom's apple pie won't save us! wink

Unless... we can somehow sneak aboard the mother ship and download a virus in to their computer system, then the President can fly an F-18 and lead a counter-attack against their attack ships. Woohoo! Oh wait, that was Hollywood. sarcastic

Unless we do have above-top-secret, reverse-engineered alien technology at Groom Lake....

Reminds me of that sketch I saw when the aliens had landed in London. When the chief alien first communicated to the earthling, instead of asking to be taken to 'your leader', the alien asked where the benefits office was. The earthing pointed the direction, and soon thousands of aliens were seen heading towards the benefits office to sign on for free housing etc.

"Space, let me repeat, is enormous. The average distance between stars out there is 20 million million miles. Even at speeds approaching those of light, these are fantastically challenging distances for any traveling individual. Of course, it is possible that alien beings travel billions of miles to amuse themselves by planting crop circles in Wiltshire or frightening the daylights out of some poor guy in a pickup truck on a lonely road in Arizona (they must have teenagers, after all), but it does seem unlikely."
