Is Bledsoe The Biggest No-load In The NFL?

Thu Nov 16, 2006 10:00 am

Ok, so Drew Bledsoe was a 1st round round draft pick, considered to be a future Joe Montana. Now he's lost his job for a 2nd time. He's launched Tom Brady's career who took "his" team to the Super Bowl and created a dynasty. Now, Tony Romo of the Dallas Cowboys is off to a hot start since he started. Bledsoe is benched watching Terrel Owens smile becuase he cuaght a few balls, something he was never able to do. Has Drew Bledsoe deep-six'd his career?

I think so. I doubt there will be much of a market for him after this, especially if Romo finishes out the season strong.

I don't want to say his feet are cement, but members of 'the family' are looking at him for tips...  duck

That alone had done him in. He can't avoid a sack OR pass under pressure, and that's a bad combination.

The Dallas OL is horrible right now. Unless they have a more mobile QB like Romo in, they have no chance of winning.

As a Buffalo Fan, I can say his career is over. He holds the ball too long - a no-no for a veteran QB, and he's about as mobile as a statue. You cannot be a QB like that in today's NFL.

As a Vikings fan, I can say that I would rather have him than Johnson...an even bigger no-load than Bledsoe.

In spite of the over-used euphemisms of bledsoe being a statue, he's got an arm.

Sure his mobility could be better but look at the line that does little to protect him. I think he gets too much of the blame for his sacks.

Drew Bledsoe

Not to take the thread way off topic but...Funny that you mention his name, we had his dad speak at our school for a motivational speech today. I'm not sure how people from Montana think, but I never such a emphasis on racial differences in my life. He also mentioned his son a whole bunch of times and all I could think of was, "Hes not all that great, stop glorifying him.

Nine years of putting up with his crap in NE was nine years too many. He's tall, he has a strong arm; he's tall, he has a strong arm...

He's the only QB I know of who routinely throws the ball out of bounds to avoid a sack/INT on 4th down with 10 seconds left in the game, but takes the sack or throws the pick in the middle of the game. No team will ever win a superbowl with Blew Dredsoe as their QB. Just end it.

CastleIsland, it could have been worse. Imagine if the Pats drafted
Ryan Leaf instead of Bledsoe.

Imagine if Fripp had drafted Boz Burrell and taught him how to play bass...oh, wait. Wink

Leaf was indeed a bust, my friend.
