Denmark's Speed Bumps

Sun Nov 19, 2006 2:23 pm

Oh My God.... Denmark has come up with a new innovation to curb speeding on it's roads.... It's called 'Da Bikini Bandits'

Check the Video here: http://www.speedbandits.dk/

I hope I don't get in trouble for sharing this info but I have to say this is one bold campaign. See it for yourself and then tell me what you think?

Can anyone from Denmark confirm this campaign

Cheers

Very nice, I wish they had them over here. I had absolutely no idea what this was even about until I watched the video

I haven't heard of this before.. Gotta check it out to see if its true

It looks like it is real though. They have put the "Danish Road Safety Council's" logo on there and the footage is definately from Copenhagen.

OG DET VAR DANMARK....

So what do they do when it's not summer?
They plan to add normal speed bumps on my street, but I'd DEFINITELY prefer this kind!  Smile

Apparently this was done as a legitment 'public service' advertisement, in the style of a news story piece, to deal with a serious problem. Defenitely gets my attention as well as clever and maybe getting the point across. Perhaps we could do something like that here (USA), but not with topless models to get the attention needed to curb speeding here.

The problem is that drivers will slow down when passing a girl...

...and then speed off to find the next one.  Wink

Fake as in it's nothing the ministery of traffic came up with and as in "no, it's not gonna be permanent". To me, it looks like something these chicks came up with to get attention more than anything else. "I don't care what people think"? Uhh... okay...

Amazing.

And in Sweden, a couple of years ago, they had to remove the ads from H&M because they were distracting male drivers, and hence to be considered a danger to traffic.

Read between the lines.

Sorry, but yeah, it's fake. In the sense that they made it seem official and permanent in the clip. I never said these attentionwh*res never existed (and I really don't care that your classmate saw one- does he want a medal for that?), I'm just saying this isn't a campaign created by the ministery. Why? Did he ask for a medal? You should care, because it proves that they didn't only stand there because of the video clip but also stand there while not being filmed.

Quoting DragoGoalie (Reply 16):

Read your point? That is the first time you mention anything about whether this is made by the ministry or not  Wink Easy way to get out of trouble, don't you think?
I repeat:
Just because this campaign isn't made by the ministry doesn't make it fake  Smile

If you click on this link:

http://www.sikkertrafik.dk/moduler/speedbandits/default.html

It will direct you to the same website.

Also note that under 'About' it says:
"This movie was made by the Danish Road Safety Council and aims to draw attention to speed signs and speed limits in Denmark. Despite a decrease in speed violations, 7 out of 10 Danes still exceed the speed limit on a regular basis. Respecting the speed limits is the simplest way to save lives."

and this page:
http://www.sikkertrafik.dk/

is their official website. Do you see the connection?
In other words: This campaign is NOT fake.
Sorry DragoGoalie, but you completely misunderstood it

LOL! wanna start a competition about who is better at comprehending danish?

It says that they are not responsible for what is being written on SOME of the WEBSITE. NOT on the streets. And what they are referring to is links directing to websites outside sikkertrafik.dk. Speedbandits has a dedicated website within sikkertrafik.dk, which means that Rådet For Større Færdselssikkerhed has approved Speed Bandits.

(sorry but)you lose.

An F+ for trying though

btw nice Danish language skills anyway

The guy who is interviewed is called 'Bent Koch Hansen'. This doesn't exactly add credibility to the story.

Well it is an authentic Danish name. There's even a girl in my class with the last name 'Koch'

There's also a guy in my class with the last name 'Bang'

Bent is a rather normal name as well.
So the guy's name has nothing do to with the credibility of this.
Try googling either Bent or Koch, and you will see that it is true.

A friend of mine told me about when he once met the owner of the reitan group (i.e the Rema 1000 shops) Odd Reitan. Just as my friend was introduced to the millionaire, he realised the pronunciation sounded remarkably similar to "?.., dreit han?" (Oh, did he take a dump?) and just started laughing.

Must have been a fun moment to witness. Big grin

well

If this is true, i don't understand why we have not heard any complaints from some danish priests about "Amorality". Or even worse: Complaints from the Muslim imams, that we deliberately are trying to insult the Muslim population in Denmark by having topless (hot) women in the streets.
