The Aufficial Mauritania Election Threads

Mon Nov 20, 2006 1:45 am

NOUAKCHOTT (AFP) - Voters in Mauritania were going to the polls to choose parliamentary and local government representatives in the Islamic republic's first elections since the end of 21 years of autocratic rule in a bloodless coup last year.

After a June referendum overwhelmingly approved a new constitution limiting presidential mandates and granting parliament powers to censure the government, Mauritanians returned to the ballot boxes to press ahead with the transition process.

So how is that being follows in your country the coverage of the Mauritania votes? Ely Ould Mohamed comments played many times? For sure they been so, 30 parties involved.
