UK! Pan, Down, Going. Great To Be British?

Thu Nov 23, 2006 11:17 pm

Just another slight on our heritage? Hmmmm! Glad I'm of the older generation.

When will it end? Obviously not here.

Let me get this straight: You're worried and unhappy about the sheer might of Iceland and Icelandic companies?

The UK is one of the worlds largest overseas investors, so in the interests of a 2 way street.........

Anyway, we should be at ease with the Nordics, as the title of the article alludes, we are not short of their DNA here.
But today, in lack of poverty, lower crime, some world class punching above their weight industries, lack of obscene rewards for often crap CEO's, bring them on!

Funny that, these high cost, highly unionised, higher tax, superb services/infrastructure economies, seen able to retain profitable, often high tech, manufacturing industries.
And here, whinge whinge whinge from the likes of the CBI.

Now I'm sure that some from these Nordic nations, will point out problems, which every nation has, but in the areas above, whose better off?
I note senior politicians, from all 3 major parties, have been trekking northwards for some years, to see how they manage to pull off what I've mentioned.

I've never been quite sure about her, sometimes I thought she was cute, and quite sexy, others I thought she was just a raving loonbag.

I'd wager that she's be well dirty in the sack though! On the other hand, would you risk a blow job, she may bite!  Wink

Hmm and there's my company - 100% owned by its UK employees - expanding and buying large companies and competitors in other countries, and winning work all over the world. It may not be a household name to the average person in the street which is why it's not news.

Yes foreigners are buying up UK interests, but to think that UK companies don't go and do the same thing elsewhere is foolish.....
Just when I thought I could see light at the end of the tunnel, it was some B*****d with a torch bringing me more work

One man's "raving loonbag" is another's "endearing eccentric" ??

I always suspected that she would be an "interesting challenge". No reward without risk!

I can only reiterate. She does it for me!??

[damn speel chocker!]

Indeed, I would also venture that she'd be the one 'in control' of any nocturnal activities.

Upon reflection, I've made my mind up. I'd hit it!

"endearing excentric"

Yes foreigners are buying up UK interests,

Which is quite often a case of daft foreigners buying up crap companies for extortionate amounts, whilst British shareholders gleefully run to the bank before they realise what's happened and change their minds. Remember BMW buying Rover? How we laughed. Big grin Well, at least until some stupid tosser bought it back, anyway.  grumpy
