Life, Liberty, And The Pursuit Of Federal Dollars

Katrina was one year and 3 months ago and yet some people have yet to be able to get back on their feet.....

"This ruling is a victory for thousands of our fellow citizens who have done everything within their power to put the pieces of their lives back together," ACORN President Maude Hurd said. "Americans are compassionate people, and we want to see Katrina survivors get help to rebuild their homes, lives and communities, not the runaround from the government."

Everything in their power? They can't be serious. There is a huge difference between compassion and gullibility. If you can't get your life back in some semblance of order after 15 months, whose to blame? We got them out of New Orleans, paid to set them up in other towns, gave them cash and other benefits, the paper is full of employers looking for employees, and yet they still need a crutch.

All I can say is that the settlers of this country, the ones that crossed the plains in conestoga wagons and braved not only the weather, but bandits, indians, and just plain old bad luck, must be rolling over in their graves wondering why they couldn't get a sweet heart deal like this.
Warm winds blowing, heating blue skies, and a road that goes forever. I'm going to Texas!
