A Nice Change For The 2006 Hurricane Season

Fri Dec 01, 2006 12:52 pm

Well Hurricane season is over now and what a nice one it was. Nine named storms, five hurricanes, two intense hurricanes. Only got up to the letter I this year instead of going to the Greek naming system last year. Only one hurricane afffect any land this year. Compared to last year with Wilma and Katrina and the countless other storms this season was a nice one. It does not look like there will be any December or January stroms this year.  Smile

Yep, the massive hurricane season that was supposed to happen this year because of global warming did not materialize. Maybe the cows stopped farting?

Strong upper level winds out the west and an El Nino that developed over the summer were the main components behind the slow season. Hopefully it continues into next year's season.

and I thought this was about the lousy season for the Miami Hurricanes  bouncy
Seriously, I know that my family in the Pensacola area enjoyed the break this year after the past two years.

After seeing all the destruction that Stan caused over here last year, I'm more than glad that this season was such a mild one... hopefully next one will be the same  Smile
Don't expect to see me around that much (if at all) -- the contact link should still work, though.

It is merely a cycle, if only it would put an end to those who read too much into one day, one week or one year. Lets go past that, as weather is indeed a cycle and not some huge human controlled thing. Can't wait till 30-40 year down the road this global warming things stops when the belt stops and we see a cooling period...........

And I thought it was about the Carolina Hurricanes.

The only thing we got in DAB was part of Ernesto - it hardly rained.
