Wiper Blades...

Tue Dec 05, 2006 3:16 am

"Changing wiper blades for the first time has been known to cause extreme frustration."

Quoted from a website telling you how to change wiper blades. My mom bought some, and told me to go change them. Well, I follow the directions on the package (yes, I know, I looked at the directions...), and guess what? It doesnt work.

I think there needs to be an ammendment to the "man card" rule... See, right now, its "if you look at the directions for any device or tool, a snip may be cut off of your man card". I think it should be ammended so that if the directions are wrong, then you do not get any part of the card cut off.

So, back to the story. These wiper blades were supposed to just "pop" off... well, they made lots of noise, including many "pops" and snaps and groans, but they didn't budge. My fingers also made lots of noise, snapping who-knows-what inside of them, but the wipers still didn't budge.

So, ok, I come inside and look online. Yes, I know, I am a loser. I looked for even more instructions.

But guess what? Those didn't work either! HA!

So now we're stuck with some bent wiper blades.

(Hint: I am trying to make a story out of a question... how do you change the freaking things!)

Your man card isn't just getting a snip taken off. For reading directions twice in one day, for the same project, involving a car, we are taking it away. As of now your man card is null and void until such a time as you play a rugby game, punch another man in the face, drink a six pack, and fix those wipers. At such time your card will be under review for renewal by a board of men.

They should just pop off like you said. Thats how it is on every car I've seen.

Assuming your mom's car has the (shepherds) hook style attachment they should just pop out. Takes a moment or two to figure it out really.

ALL of those?

Dang. This sucks. Even more so, because my mom just took the car in for some power-steering repairs, and will probably get the blades fixed, also.

Dang. I guess I can never be a man again?

wow somebody can't get over some things, eh?

Please, why do you have to drag that all over the board? You'd think one thread would be enough.

No, no. I've not quite had enough yet. When BAB declares a topic dead and/or without humorous value, then it is dead and/or without humorous value. Until that time, carry on.

Ok, KROC, bring it on??

oh wait... maybe in a new thread... you wouldn't want to have to delete your own posts, since they would be off topic in this thread.

According to the man laws public nudity must be accompanied by public intoxication to be considered manly. Otherwise it's winter in the northern hemisphere and considered stupidity.

But, I'm under age, so I can't drink...

So if I drink a 6-pack of... RedBull?

I'll go punch my dad in the face. He's sleeping.

Football better than rugby?

I already fixed those wipers.

I had some new ones one time that just wouldn't click into place so had to adapt the clip from old set to make it work...mixing brand names is often the problem, so I try to keep blades and holders from same company.

I must be even manlier then ... I went to my favorite authorized Volkswagen garage to have the wiper blades replaced on the Touareg ... and guess what? The genious doing the work actually managed to break my windshield! *bang*

That's why I prefer not changing wiper blades myself: at least it wasn't *me* breaking that windshield  Silly
