The Nokia Praise Thread

Sun Dec 10, 2006 3:29 pm

After suffering through four broken Motorolas and LGs in two years, I finally decided to throw down $200 and buy a Nokia. My first cellphone, seven years ago, was a Nokia and it was indestructable. I did everything to that phone aside from run it over with a car and the thing still worked. It's a shame the people at Verizon like to have you buy a new phone every year or so off them, so they only offer a few Nokia models. I got my new 6236i a few weeks ago and I couldn't be any happier, the thing is actually solidly constructed, not using the cheap plastic they use at LG and Motorola.

Here's to having the same Nokia that still has 3 bars all the time, ever since I turned 16 (I'm now 19). They really are incredible phones.

I had a Moto RAZR for the past 2 years, and last week I finally told it to screw itself lol. I've had wayyy too many problems. So I decided to treat myself to a brand new Sony Ericsson Z610i. Let me tell ya... what a freakin amazing thing. I love it.

Here's to SE and Nokia for making some of the greatest phones out there. Motorola is definitely lagging behind in user interface and simplicity.

My first mobile was a nokia 3310 - couldn't fault it. It had been dropped down the stairs, on to concrete, everything bar into water and getting run over. It just smiled and carried on  Silly

My N70 is pretty fragile, I dropped it on carpet and the screen cracked.

I've dumped Nokia for now....i'm onto Sony-Ericcson for a change with both a W810i Walkman handset and work has loaned me a K800i Cybershot phone. The K800i is awesome and even takes a decent photo (for a 3.2mp camera-phone). Ontop of that the build quality is great and decent battery life. Stuck a 512mb card in it the other day for more video clips and pics and a few mp3's. It even makes phonecalls!!!

I have always stood by Nokia as I trust that they make some great phones!

My first phone was a Nokia 5110, and I have only had a couple of Non-Nokia phones since then! Currently using the Nokia N73 which isn't too bad even though it can be a bit of a sloth at times!  Wink

I'm happy you like your Nokia. I like Nokias, too, and they've hardly let me down. However, I would add that I've had no problems with my Motorolas, either. I currently own two RAZR's and both of them work very well. They're also very well constructed, in my experience, with a mostly metallic case.

The V60 I still use is also a Motorola, and is also mainly metal. I call it "Old Reliable".

Some years ago, I owned a StarTAC and don't recall any problems with it.

I haven't had any experience with LG phones, though.

I've had 2 Siemen's, 2 Motorola's, 2 Nokia's and one Samsung. So far the Samsung was by far the best phone, but the Nokia's are almost as good. The Siemen's were quite good, but I won't by buying a Motorola again, waaaaaaaaaaaay too many problems with them.

You can get an N73 and N75 in the USA. Ebay and many overseas electronics stores.

I use an unbranded Motorola V3X on T-Mobile in the USA. I swap sims and use Orange Polska when in Poland.
