Yes, and for a comedy, the last show for that series was very sad.

Indeed, that was the worst part. Sad that it ended in the first place

They do? I thought they were all called "Assorted pikemen". Are you telling me they have different names? Each?

Bloody hell!

Not as such, no. But we theorise they use a complex odour-based encoding to identify each individual in the herd. It's the only logical explanation.

Indeed. Myt and Gkirk are merely chemical formula names based on the emissions they give off.

I hadn't realised there was a chemical formula for "three week old carcass of a spavined mule that died of ebola" - ain't science marvellous ?

Oh dear. I *just* re-watched Series 3 a couple of weekends ago, and will now have to go and view Series 4 to make sure DIJKKIJK doesn't have to face the same fate as Dr. Johnson's dictionary!

It doesn't leave much for everyone else! I have to say that with the possible exception of "Yes Minister", Blackadder was my all time favoute.

I always find phrases cropping into my day to day usage, i.e. "I'd rather have my tongue beaten wafer thin by a steak tenderiser and stapled to the floor with a croquet hoop", (to which my colleagues usually reply, "so that's a "no" then"?)

My senior manager is a big fan as well - he told me the Series 3 show with Dr. Johnson and the dictionary was his favourite.

My own personal favourite - so hard to say; my favourite speech is General Melchett's "pooh-pooh" speech in the "General Hospital" in Series 4, but although the fourth series ended sadly, it was - in my view - the best. Not by a long distance, because the other were so terrific, but there was a poignancy to it which the others didn't have.

Anyway, back to the subject: since all the good roles are gone, can I take Chris Barrie's terrific role in the third series - the "evil revolutionary" who has "merdered the ambassadeur and turned him into - (get the hand movement right) - pate!". (And anyone who denies me this is a "boite de stinky weed"!!!)

What about Flasheart? WOOF!

Ah, Melchett. Still worshipping God? Last I heard... He'd started worshipping me!

Nursie. I like it firm and fruity. Am I pleased to see you or did I just put a canoe in my pocket? Down, boy, down!

She's got a tongue like an electric eel, and she likes the taste of a man's tonsils.

Mind if I use your phone? If word gets out that I'm missing, five hundred girls will kill themselves. I wouldn't want them on my conscience, not when they ought to be on my face! Huh!

Enter a man who has no underwear. Ask me why.
Why do you have no underwear, Lord Flash?
Because the pants haven't been built yet that'll take the job on.
