Just Found This Neat Sim Game!

http://www.hangsim.com/vs/
It is a nautical simulation game that has no set misions and gives you the freedom to do what you want.

The basic game comes with only a few ships but there is a large fan base that makes freeware models like fligh sim

you can skiper anything from rowboats to submarines to ocean liners ans even the Titanic. Many ships also with weapons packages so miniature naval battles can be fought !!!

I saw this sitting on the shelf in a shop a few months ago, and thought nothing of it. It just hit me now, this could be perfect for my fathers xmas! He was in the merchant navy as an engineer, im sure he would love the chance to sail a cargo ship through the Panama canal!

I think i just found his xmas present. Thanks Alberchico Big grin

Full throttle forward, nothing happened.
End of demo, nothing happened,
Not happy.
Game over.

Well I tried it and I guess it was pretty cool. I have always wondered why they havent made a Sim like this. To StrasserB You have to Undock yourself first by pressing D then your free to go. Microsoft should really look into a simulator like this. With MS Train Sim and the new Flight Sim out I bet they can come up with something pretty darn cool. There is so much stuff that could be added to make it more real. Just by seeing the demo though I dont think i would pay the $27 for it. it needs to be a little more advanced to me. Oh well..just my 2 cents

Ok for a nautical sim. Still, I prefer my Silent Hunter III sim. Silent Hunter is a WWII submarine sim that allows you to conduct either single missions or build a career. The original Silent Hunter was based on US subs in the Pacific Theatre but the II and III versions are based on the German U-Boat fleet due to the wider variety of subs and equipment. You can build a top notch crew as you and your crew gain experiance and develope your sub into a top of the line fighting boat. Right now I'm in 1942 and have a Type IXB sub. It has a 29,000 nautical mile range and is armed with six torpedo tubes (4 fore, 2 aft) with 12 reloads fore and four reloads aft. Secondary armament includes one forward mounted deck gun, two light flak guns and one heavy flak gun aft. So far I've sunk well over 100 enemy vessels and two aircraft.

Reminds me of an OLD game I used to play, "Ports of Call". Has anybody heard of this game?

Seems a new version is out. I'll download the demo when I get home:

I loved that game, way back when on my 'AMIGA'.
