Out of interest, whenever I see that pic of the Deer in the Dodge, I wonder if the driver was ok? Looks like it ended up laying on the seat!

Wimp's not so tough without his shotgun is he?

Slaughtering for food = fine.

But hunting for sport, for enjoyment? With a gun? That's not sportsmanlike. That's cowardlike. That's like playing soccer with a mile-long goal and Mother Teresa as goalie.

Hunters are pussies who want to look tough.

Hunting can be very rewarding. Today I went out on the family farm for the first time by myself with my grandpa's 30.06, I went up in the forest above some of our pasture land and just picked a spot outside a small little clearing next to one of our old tracks we'd used to clear up the dead brush back up in there and sat down on a stump and just sat for about an hour. Nothing came along but just being there, watching a woodpecker go to work on a tree above me was really cool, you don't get to experience that from the city.

P.S. Judging by your demeanor you've probably never shot a gun, but had you actually had your head out your ass long enough to watch the video, you'd have seen the bow and arrow  Wink

Well considering he is bowhunting, I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't prohibited from packing a firearm.

BTW: Bowhunting take a special skill set as you have to approach an animal much closer. In many ways it requires quite a bit more skill

Been to a slaughterhouse and know exactly where meat comes from. I'm no vegetarian and am not against slaughtering animals for food. Game hunters do it for "sport" and for fun or the challenge. Nothing challenging about hunting game when you've got an objectively unfair advantage in the form of buckshot.

Have shot a gun, but not at an animal. Didn't realize it was an arrow, though. Looked like a gun from the video.

No buckshot there buddy, just one bullet, one chance for the kill. Sure if you miss you could eject the old casing and cock it again, but by the time you do that there ain't gonna be a deer around for you to shoot.

Btw today was my first chance to actually shoot the 710, nice weapon I must say. Seemed light, easy to aim, didn't kick too much, made me deaf for a few seconds  Wink

I can't tell you how much I disagree with that statement, mainly because I have hunted for the freezer.

When I am hunting for the freezer, I want an unfair advantage....anything else is playing with your food.

For some reason I have never liked this video here, I feel if you are going to hunt a Lion, do it out in his territory and not confined to a small area giving the Lion almost no chance to escape. Too bad he did not get the hunter, came close.

Unless you are hunting for sport or for recreation, what I'm saying doesn't apply to you.

I think there is difference between hunting and hunting. Hunting a lion is with a few exceptions bad (no one does for meat and lions are an endangered species). Over here where I live deer and wild boars have to be hunted or they become a pest. And no, I'm not a hunter defending my hobby.

I think hunting for sport is fine, but not endangered species! That's the main reason this video is so repulsive.

I'll say this, though - I'm amazed that guy didn't run screaming like a little bitch when that big bastard charged like that!
