Any Bob Newhart Fans?

Fri Jan 05, 2007 8:34 am

I'm not a huge Bob Newhart fan, but I'm in search of one particularly funny stand-up bit he did.

The one I have in mind is one of his famous "one-sided phone conversations". He plays the part of the Empire State Building's security guard.....during King Kong's ascent up the building. He's "on the phone" with his boss, attempting to describe the situation at hand, and asking for advice.

It's damn funny, but I can't find it anywhere. If anyone happens to know where it could be downloaded, I'd love to hear where it could be obtained.

Thanks in advance!

I've enjoyed the work of Bob Newhart, and particularly his television work playing the roles of a psychiatrist and innkeeper, respectively.

I haven't been able to find a download yet but you can buy a whole slew of his skits, including the King Kong one, here

Cool. I'll keep looking for a downloadable version, but it's good to know Amazon has the disc.

Thanks!

Thanks to syndication, we'd be hammered before dinner! Good times.

Some of Bob's stuff is great. My favourite is the "Bomb disposal" one.

"Inside are two wires. One's a greyish-blue and the other is a blueish-grey!" Wow!

"It says, and this is important, use an LT-507 screwdriver with a plastic handle and a demagnetised head. You don't have one? Well, use a coin." rotfl

And of course, there's "Introducing tobacco to civilisation"  laughing
