TV Series: Did You Like "The Addams Family"?

Sat Jan 06, 2007 7:00 am

I think this was one of the best TV series of the times. Intriguing, with funny interpreters and with nice episodes.
I think it was good in black & white.

Did you like it?

Do you know if it's available on DVD?

Yeah, sure is. Amazon has it, also try eBay, and if all else fails, use google.

Were you watching it dubbed? Somehow I just don't think "Speak French to me my dear!" would have the same comedic effect in Italian. Of course, maybe it would be even funnier in an absurd way.

I'm so far removed from that generation. It's hard for me to find that humor funny or the acting good. Granted there's lots of "cheese" today, but I find the "Ba da bum cha" drum roll after jokes stupid.
Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, Staten, Uptown, what now? Lets make it happen.

Yes it was dubbed.
The "Speak French to me dear" has the same effect because I'm not French and for me it's a foreign language, too.

Maybe it could sound strange in the French version.

I'm used to see dubbed films/series and Italian dubbers are quite good.

One of the best results is "the Nanny" that in the US is Jewish. You have to know that I discovered this only a few weeks ago, because in Italian version "The nanny" family is a family of Italians who went to the US.

Maman is not the mother, but her aunt.

The result is great and I still don't understand how they could have translated everything with the strong funny effect.
