Ted Stevens (R-AK) On Internet Bill

Fri Jan 12, 2007 11:28 am

I was forward this email today and I just have one simple question.
Did Senator Ted Stevens really say this or is this just a poor attempt at humor?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f99PcP0aFNE&mode=related&search=

After listening to this twice (and its hard to follow), I am not sure if this was 'doctored' to make him sound stupid or if he is really this that stupid.

Old news, he said it. This has been posted at laughed at ad naseum.

As for the inevitable Ted's a loon posts: You - whomever will post such a post - can only WISH you had a US Senator like Ted. His kid, Ben - the original assmonkey - another story.

Uncle Ted . . . .

Can't touch that.

No, that's not doctored. He's just a crazy old man who doesn't know jack about computers or the internet.

It's pretty hilarious though!  biggrin

Sorry to bring up an old topic. I knew nothing of Ted Steven's rant when it happened.
Ted Steven's is one of those guys I tend to ignore.

When I received the email, I had to verify it here amongst the 'experts'.

Sorry to hear about that AirframeAS.
Perhaps someone can find one, if it exist. It's hard to make heads or tails of what he is saying. He is mumbling, stuttering, not completing his sentences and calls the Internet a bunch of tubes. He also mentions UPS and FedEx.
He sounds like some of the drunken homeless people that ride the subway at night.

He finally got a good sized fine for his indiscretions. Id like to see him get some jail time. I did get a kick out of several of the APOC commissioners saying his political career is over. I thought to myself, unless he moves to NOLA.

Well it seems L-188 is out, ANCFlyer is thinking about it, but I already have plans for it. Just in the process of working my way up to it. Currently a city councilman, state leg in 10 years, Governor in 20, senator in 30.

Nah not at all, but I have heard the conspiricies. I do find it interesting he was married to his staffer shortly after. Who says only democrats keep mistresses.

His long-lost brother is actually a politician in Germany, governor of Bavaria. Name is Edmund Stoiber.

He makes speeches of similar quality, where he also displays expert knowledge of complex technical matters. A good example can be found here.

It is a speech about the benefits of a possible Transrapid connection from Munich Central Station to MUC airport. For those who don't speak German, here's the free translation:

"If you, at the Central Station in Munich, with 10 minutes, without having to check-in at the airport, then you basically take off at the airport... at... at the Central Station in Munich you take off for your flight. 10 minutes, if you look at the major airports. If you, in Heathrow, in London, anywhere else... my... Cha-Charles de Gaulle in... errr... France or in... in... errr... in Rome, if you look at the distances, if you Frankfurt you look at, you will notice that you will need 10 minutes easily in Frankfurt to find your gate.

If you start at the airpo... errr... Central Station, you are boarding at the Central Station and you go by Transrapid in 10 minutes to the airport to into the airport Franz-Josef Strauss. Then you take off basically at the Central Station here in Munich.

This means of course that the Central station basically gets closer to Bavaria, to the Bavarian cities, because that is obvious, because at the Central Station many connections are merged from all over Bavaria."

I wonder why these politicians are allowed to smoke dope, while we aren't...  Sad

Doesn't surprise me. With what appears to be ANWRs last breath being exhaled, any other location to drill will be welcome by the State coffers.

Well offshore oil and gas is something I will admit to flip flopping on regularly. We could very much use the windfall, but will see little of it directly, and if something were to go wrong it could devastate the only thing we got going fishing.

Now that would be a change. But damn that does have a nice ring to it. It is good and bad that he doesnt want any part of that. He seems content to stay put and serve bacon, ham, hotdogs, sausage, chops, shoulders, and ribs to the fine people of Alaska.
