Up into redwood country to pick up several thousand very old negatives for scanning and archiving.

No flying. Might never again. Don't know.

I have a few trips planned; Big grin

Middle East:

25.01.2007 London Heathrow -- Manchester ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Boeing B747-SP
25.01.2007 Manchester -- Damascus ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Boeing B747-SP
27.01.2007 Damascus -- Latakia ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Yak 40
27.01.2007 Latakia -- Damascus ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Yak 40
28.01.2007 Damascus -- Aleppo ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Boeing B727-200
29.01.2007 Aleppo -- Damascus ... Syrian Arab Airways ... Airbus A320-200
30.01.2007 Damascus -- Amman ... Royal Jordanian ... Fokker F28
02.02.2007 Amman -- Beirut ... Royal Jordanian ... De Havilland Dash8-Q400
04.02.2007 Beirut -- London Heathrow ... Middle Eastern Airlines ... Airbus A330-200

Apart from the rare and interesting aircraft, I will get to see Damascus and the citadel at Aleppo whilst in Syria, then I move on to Jordan and Amman where I will also travel down to Petra to see the city carved into the gorge. After that I will go to Beirut, I wanted to see it before the war, but it will be interesting to see what has happened to it.

Africa:

Literally have only just finalised this trip and made the bookings!

07.03.2007 Birmingham - Amsterdam ... KLM ... B737
07.03.2007 Amsterdam - Johannesburg ... KLM ... B747-400
??.03.2007 Johannesburg - Cape Town ... Nationwide ... ?
*return from CPT by LCC*
??.03.2007 Johannesburg - Gaborone ... Air Botswana ... BAe146-100/ATR42
??.03.2007 Gaborone - Francistown ... (TRAIN)
??.03.2007 Francistown - Bulawayo ... (TRAIN)
??.03.2007 Bulawayo - Harare - Bulawayo ... Air Zimbabwe ... XianMA60
??.03.2007 Bulawayo - Victoria Falls ... (TRAIN)
??.03.2007 Livingstone - Kapiri Mposhi ... (TRAIN)
??.03.2007 Kapiri Mposhi - Dar Es Salaam ... (TRAIN)
??.03.2007 Dar Es Salaam - Zanzibar ... Air Tanzania ... B737-200
??.03.2007 Zanzibar - Dar Es Salaam ... Zamair ... Let410?
??.03.2007 Dar Es Salaam - Zanzibar ... Zamair ... Let410?
??.04.2007 Zanzibar - Dar Es Salaam ... Air Tanzania ... B737-200
05.04.2007 Dar Es Salaam - Mombasa ... Precision Air ... ATR42
05.04.2007 Mombasa - Nairobi ... East African Safari Airways ... F28
05.04.2007 Nairobi - Khartoum ... Kenya Airways ... B737
05.04.2007 Khartoum - Cairo ... Kenya Airways ... B737
06.04.2007 Cairo - Amsterdam ... KLM ... B777-200ER
06.04.2007 Amsterdam - Bristol ... KLM ... F100

Shall be heading first to JNB to see fellow A.netter Birdwatching after his most kind offer, then to CPT for a few days before slowly working my way back up to Kenya, mainly on the trains but I wouldn't turn down a few flights if the option is available at a reasonable price. I was hoping to get right up into Kenya, see Kilimanjaro, but I realise I will probably not have enough time, so I think I shall save that for another trip and spend longer in Tanzania. Zimbabwe also is dependant on the political and economic situation of the country. Hopefully shall be the trip of a lifetime! Several of the trains are two or three day journeys, through the countryside, so hopefully it will give me an opportunity to see some of the wildlife. Still have to finalise and book a lot of the inter-Africa flights, some can be booked on the day at no extra cost, so I think that might be best.

Iceland

08.04.2007 London Gatwick -- Keflavik ... British Airways ... Boeing B737-400
16.04.2007 Reijavik -- Vagar (Faroe Islands) ... Air Iceland ... Not Sure; F50/146
20.04.2006 Vagar (Faroe Islands) -- Copenhagen ... Air Atlantic ... Avro RJ100

Hoping to add several internal flights; possibly a Landsflug D228, or AirIceland Dash8-100 as I would like to visit the Westman Islands and perhaps see the scenery from above. I was aiming to camp, but I have a back problem which currently prevents me from getting up off the floor easily, so I might have to take a rain check on that! I'm in Iceland for the A.net KEF meet, others will leave on the morning of the 13th, I'll leave in the evening and fly down to the Faroe Islands for several days, I thought I might as well add these into the trip, Air Iceland down and then I was due to be flying FaroeJet onto CPH, but they went bust so I was transferred to Air Atlantic. Then I shall take either EZY to STN, or SN to BHX, just in time for the start of my next university term.

Ambitious plans I know, but I think it shall all be worth it!

Right now things are very quiet in terms of travel...all I have booked is LAS meet/spring break, which goes like this:

March:
DEN-LAS UA A320 (Ted)
LAS-IAH-FLL CO 739 and 738 (first 739 flight!)
FLL-PHL ??? TBD but probably US

April:
PHL-CMH-STL-MCI-DEN WN 737...back to school the old fashioned way, same-plane 3 stop service...should be fun!

Got a Europe trip planned for August but havent booked flights yet...gotta go to CPH first, then to London, and maybe take a sidetrip or two around the continent somewhere...TBD though...

I Figured its for a reason as such, either family or a woman.

I make a monthly pilgrimage to Manchester so i've got about 12 flights from LGW-MAN but as its just a commute for me these days, i just omitted it. Isn't family a strange thing...?

Seriously, though, LAX is pushing the limits of my wife's tolerance of my hobby. When she hears the Vegas commercials, some internal mechanism translates "What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas" into "Your unattended husband has sex with many women that you won't know about until you get that rash checked."

I'm thinking of heading out to YVR during our spring break courtesy of our friends at WS, the chance of going to both YWG (to visit the girlfriend) and LHR (to visit family) in the summer and the usual 3-hour drive to YEG for the Fringe Festival (I stay in the hotel room, no questions asked, until it is time to go to dinner).
I need a drink.

Simple answer Young Padewan . . . bring the wife . . . .there will be ladies present, we're all not heathens - at least not in the company of ladies . . . some of us know to open the door, refrain from public flatulence, excuse ourselves after belching, buy the drinks, say please and thank you . . .

My next trips will be:

TOS in March
GIG in April
TXL in May
AMS in June
in July going

VIE-ARN-OSL-TOS ( small break ) TOS-LYR-TOS than by car via the Northcap down to Finnland and flying out of HEL again.

After summer I might go to MUC ( Oktoberfest ) and ZRH but the rest of the year I will save my money ( and holidays) for a 6 -8 weeks trip to Alaska in May 2008!  Smile

Edit: Duty trips are excluded. So more flights to come.

I'd fly NW through MSP, but why go low rent when I can get UA and F all the way . .

That's true  Smile Good thing about living by MSP, it's a hub with connections to lots of places. Bad thing about living by MSP, the beforementioned carrier is NW  Wink

I'm in ZRH right now, en route home from an afternoon meeting in FRA (ho hum !) - got a fun one next week to PRG, TLL and RIX

21Jan NCE VIE Tyrolean DH4
21Jan VIE PRG Tyrolean CRJ
21-22Jan Prague
23Jan PRG TLL CSA 735
24Jan Tallinn
24Jan TLL RIX AirBaltic F50
25Jan Riga
26Jan RIX DUS AirBaltic 735? or 733?
26Jan DUS NCE Cityline CRJ

Apart from that nothing terribly concrete - I have to go to Stockholm in Feb, probably Lisbon as well, plus possible (fingers crossed !) trips to Novossibirsk and Tashkent (woohoo !) - all for work.

Got the KEF trip in April then on to the US, but no other holidays actually booked. I will probably take a trip to EXT on the Flybe flight from NCE in the summer (got to go on an E70  Smile )

I am thinking about a trip to Alaska in the summer to look at grizzly bears eating salmon, maybe on Condor direct to FAI or ANC using Miles&More - that would be amusing.

But that's all...

Any Trips Planned Soon..

A friend and me want to go skiing/snowboarding for a week or ten days in February but it will become quite difficult to find a place with snow guarantee here in Europe, it is way too warm this winter.

Other than that we are planning a trip to Russia in August to attent the Moscow Air Show. At least one more trip to Spain is planned as well and maybe a trip to California for a few weeks in the summer.

The information above is not relevant anymore, a friend and me just booked a very spontaneous flight to Sacramento for next month, skiing and snowboarding at Lake Tahoe is in order (snow guarantee + no need for a hotel since my friend's cousin is living in South Lake Tahoe). Big grin  bigthumbsup

I didn't realize there was that much travel involved in prostitution. I thought you pretty much stuck to the docks.
