Review Of New Season Of 24

Wed Jan 17, 2007 2:41 am

Ok, so I've watched the first 4 hours of 24. Had to work when they were actually broadcast so I watched all 4 hours in a row this morning. My first thoughts, I like the plot this year. I think it is more real world than the past couple of years. I can actually see terrorist bombers working in this country and the resultant crackdown, not that I would agree with it, on all Arabs. I like the way they brought Jack back into the picture. Paying off the Chinese for him is much better than him somehow escaping and making his way back. A 6ft tall blond caucasian cannot hide for long anywhere in China.

Things I don't like. I just cannot buy Wayne Palmer as President. He wasn't even mentioned in the first season. When he did make his appearance he was nothing more than a personal adviser to the President. In the last season he was still working with his brother helping him to write a book. Now, supposedly 20 months later he is the President of the United States, without ever having held any kind of prominent elective office before? Naaahhh, not gonna happen. They would have been much better off just bringing in someone new as President.

It'll be interesting to see how this season plays out and other than a few cast selections it looks to be a good season.
Warm winds blowing, heating blue skies, and a road that goes forever. I'm going to Texas!

I like that they're trying to show more of Jack's emotional side. His "Terminator" side was getting a bit old. He almost didn't seem human last season.
No matter how random things may appear, there's always a plan.
