Question About Adobe Acrobat Reader

Fri Jan 19, 2007 3:23 am

So my professors posts his PowerPoint notes as pdf format on the internet and right now they print out as one slide per page. Could I change that to print as 2 or 4 slides per page?

Probably not, since the reader only reads the file, there really isn't any way to change the file itself.

I have version 7.0.9, but probably yours will work the same as mine. I'll try to translate the German terms to English. When you open the "print" menu, there's that field called "page settings" or so.It has a dropdown menu called "page adjustment", which is the only one in that field besides the number of copies you can choose. The bottom entry in that dropdown menu is "several pages per sheet".
Don't cry because it's over, smile because it happened.

Wow, I've never seen that. That I'll help me out later, but I just upgraded to version 8, so I'm not sure how it is now.

Why not tell your boss to send them in powerpoint?

I've been disagreed upon this before on this forum, but I think Acrobat sucks. Maybe because it takes exactly 30seconds to start on my otherwise very performant PC, while locking the whole thing up for 10 seconds (mouse pointer freezes), asks for an update everytime it starts regardless, doesn't let me scroll through partial pages except with the hand, but the scroll bar/mouse will move complete pages, and has a Ctrl-F search capability so lousy it makes me sick.

But maybe I'm special..

Some print drivers allow you to do this as well independant of the source. For example, the printer I do 90% of my printing on is an HP 4345 and I can print anywhere from 1 to 16 pages per sheet regardless of the origin of the data.

Go to "Properties" for your printer and see if there is a "Finishing" Tab. If so, then look for a drop-down labelled "Pages per Sheet".
