I'm sure many of you noticed , but I've been gone for over a month.
This past holiday season was extremely busy for me with a move and many other things. I decided to get away from all the work last week, and took a road trip with my father from Texas to Arizona to see the Grand Canyon again.
We left Austin on Sunday the 7th, got back in town last Thursday. We stayed in Amarillo with family while coming and going, and in Flagstaff while in Arizona.
I40 was fine most of the way, we fought construction west of Amarillo, ice east of ABQ, and construction west of ABQ. Winslow Arizona is an I40 mess as well. However, cruising constantly around 85-90mph with packs of speeders helped make up for the time loss (sorry ANC )
I guess it's time for some of the pics:
Entering NM - always an interesting and beautiful state (maybe not this part)
Westbound I40 - notice the snow in the distance
Saw many wrecks, including this one. People need to learn to take it easy on snow/ice.
The famous Clines Corners, NM
Entering the great Grand Canyon State
Just outside Flagstaff
I took about 300 pictures at the canyon, so I just picked a few.
Driving north from Flagstaff
Entering the park
We also took a tour plane with Grand Canyon Airlines, look for a trip report in the coming week with pics and vids.
All in all it was an excellent site seeing trip, and now it feels good to be back home and online.
