Looking For An Old Friend In South Africa...

Fri Feb 09, 2007 2:02 am

Here's the problem. In the mid nineties, I worked for a while in Cape Town where I made a very good friend. His name was Izaak de Villiers and at that time he was nursing at Groote Schuur hospital in Cape Town, as I was too.(just in case anyone reading this knows him...). Anyhow, as often happens, we lost touch when I returned to the UK. The last thing I know is that he was living in East London, S.A.

How can I go about tracing him? Any ideas greatfully received!

Thanks.

Try one of the people search programs on the Internet. I've found several people that way, although usually in the US or UK...not South Africa.

Is there any time difference? Can't be more than an hour or two if there is. Seems like Belgium and South Africa would be more or less on the same meridian.

Looks like South Africa is one hour ahead of Belgium.

De Villiers is a pretty common name in South Africa, hopefully it's the right one!

Guess what; I found him! Or rather AirKas1 did! Gave him a surprise call at the weekend and caught up on 14 years! Now we are back in contact and intend to keep in regular touch. Thanks for your help...

Wow, that's really cool... I don't have anything to add, I just enjoy seeing a forum as international as this being put to such good use.
