Chris Cornell Leaves Audioslave

Sat Feb 17, 2007 2:47 am

For anyone who cares:

"Irresolvable personality conflicts." Sounds like a divorce.

Oh well, it's a shame - I thought they wrote some damn good songs, especially considering most of the crap that's on the radio these days.

Interesting that this came just after it was announced that Rage Against the Machine would be reuniting for Coachella.

He is the lead singer, right?

Yep. Former lead singer/guitarist in Soundgarden.

Good.

Now get the original Soundgarden back together.

(And for that matter, the original Stone Temple Pilots with Scott Weiland. Velvet Revolver just flat-out sucks.)

 checkmark

It'll be sweet to see Rage back together, Audioslave was so-so, some of their stuff was really good, some just flat out boring.

Speaking of reunions, anyone know when the Smashing Pumpkins cd is coming out?

 yes

Two bands I never got to see.

I do like that new Army of Anyone song - at least the music. I've never liked the guy from Filter's voice. He sounds like a pussy.

They had some good stuff. But they also had some really really tripped-out weird stuff. Couldn't get into them quite as much. Still wouldn't mind seeing them live.

I did Coachella a few years ago with my girl, awesome road trip and camping. Too bad I got a 50hr/wk working stiff job and can't go this year.

Long Live RAGE!

Wow... That sucks. Chris Cornell has a great voice and Audioslave is one of my favorite bands. I know Tom Morello is doing a solo CD, so I guess this is it for Audioslave?

I concur with the rest of you... bring back RAGE!!

I don't think you will see any Soundgarden reunions anytime soon. Still too much bad blood between the guys in the band, plus with Matt Cameron drumming with Pearl Jam these days I believe he will stay put.

Always admired Chris Cornell's talent, but his ego has led to the break-up of the last two bands he was in. And he does not cut it as a solo act...

I don't know if he could make a whole album, but his song "You Know My Name" for Casino Royale is a fantastic song...
