Well the Alaska winter sports scene just had the 1st big race of the year. The Tesoro Iron Dog.
For those who aren't familiar the Iron Dog is the worlds longest snowmobile race, measuring some 1960 miles in length, from Big Lake to Nome to Fairbanks.
This year the team of Scott Davis and Alaska's 'First Dude' Todd Palin won the race in a record timing time of 38 hours, 7 minutes and 57 seconds.
This is also Davis 7th win tying him for the wins in the 23 year history of the race.
In other Alaska winter racing events, The Yukon Quest should be finishing in short order, that is a sled dog race from Whitehorse YT, to Fairbanks Ak, In a couple of weeks we should have the Rhondy Sprint Dog Championship races and then in March the famous Iditarod race from Anchorage to Nome. Then finally the Arctic Man which is a race that I would descrive as combining the best of Snowmobile racing and waterskiing.
With events like that who the hell needs NASCAR!
OBAMA-WORST PRESIDENT EVER....Even SKOORB would be better.
