Should I Give Up A.net For Lent?

Thu Feb 22, 2007 7:09 am

Hey guys,

As the title states, should I? I know it's kind of getting late, so I was thinking about making my decision sooner than later. I'm sure most of you have pondered this thought. I'm clearly an addict, and I'm sure I can make better use of my time. After all, I'm sure my presence in the forums isn't all that appreciated.

Thanks for any input,
Ryan

Sounds like Catholic guilt to me. Recommendation: do what I did - give up Christianity for Lent.

Yes, stay! Big grin I swore to myself I'd stay away from a.net for at least a month... yet, I found myself checking non-av at least five times a week, and after around 2 weels. I just thought "ah, f*** this!" and rejoined...  crazy  Johan earns a bunch of money off people like us, I swear!  rotfl

Don't worry about not being appreciated though- you are! People may not notice you due to the sheer amount of members on here, but at least one person WILL notice that you're gone and start missing you- and that's something, at least in my book!  Smile

Don't give up a.net. As much as we are friends with each other, I am going to have to say you should give up being a Cubs fan. Since both our teams are in the AL, lets make some kind of wager, loser can not post on a.net for 10 days, and winner can rub it in their faces for those 10 days. Man this should be fun Ryan.

If you are wondering what my team is, just take a look at my User ID, I think Ryan all ready knew that!

When "Bryan" as you call him said mixed up, I think he was referring to they are both from Chicago, and I got confused on which was in which league.

I don't think you have said who is your team, all you have done is bash everyone elses.

Anyways, I'm a Braves fan. A quick look at my profile will tell you that, although I'm not blaming you for not looking at it, just stating a fact.

Oh the Braves have mastered the art of choking. Anyone who denies that is blind.

I think the main thing with the Cubbies, is they arent even ever in the posistion to choke.

Go to itunes and look at the artist "Frickin A" and look for the song "Merry Merry Merry little Christmas". There are a few songs with that title, but look for the ones about the Red Sox.

Because Lent has little to do with habits. Lent is about sacrifice. By giving up something he enjoys, he is making sacrifice.

NO, because you can reduce your "presence" on any forum to a minimum or zero for good or for a time. You can extend it or reduce it. No reason to make "decisions". When I return at times to a forum I have not been on for a while and realize that there are one, two, three people who appreciate my "return" I frankly spoken feel flattered, but does it make a difference ? Hardly. It just is like participating in a discussion in a bar or restaurant. When getting there again after a while again and meeting people again, it is nice if they react positively to your arrival and the hope of course is that their positive reaction is for real and not just being polite.

I object to such shows as "I am leaving this forum because ........", or "I have deleted my account". If I do NOT use an account in a forum for 5 years then I leave it to those in charge to delete it, and if they could not care less it is ok for me as well.
