IIRC, they're booked at the Aladdin/Planet Hollywood.

Quoting AAFLT1871 (Thread starter):
DL021

I hope he's already booked a flight, as a quick check of both Delta's and AirTran's websites show that the bulk of their flights ATL-LAS on Friday (He did say he may fly out on Friday) are pretty close to being full and the cheapest flights are well over $600 RT. And the only flight FL has seats left on for Sunday is the redeye and many of DL's flights have a handful of seats left (Some of the ones with a lot of seats left are redeyes) .

I will go on record as saying that we would both love to be there, but potentially dropping $1500 for a long weekend ain't a viable option right now. I would also like to say that I'd prefer to hang around with a bunch of aging, sagging drunks than re-enact 9 1/2 weeks on a daily basis, but I wouldn't.  Wink

And Steve, I've only been to BHM once since the BHM meet; normally, she comes up here.

Three weeks and counting.....

 bouncy   mischievous   spin

A few of us will already be in Sin City at this time three weeks from now (Provided their chosen airlines don't flub it up). Thursday night will be as low key as one can possible be in Las Vegas. Who am I kidding? The only way to be low key in Vegas is to be dead.......

Hello All

I had to make a decision between LAS with a-netters or an Alaska cruise with Mrs. swatpamike. I made the correct choice and will not be making the trip to LAS at the end of this month.

That plus the trip planned to the The Red Bull Air Race in Budapest, Hungary - 20 August 2007 and the 2nd BHM shootout has taken a toll on our vacation account for this year.

Please have a drink for me. I hope to see many of you in BHM in October.

Cheers

Yup, right call IMO  biggrin  Hang out with us drunken sods in LAS or come to "The Great Land" . . . ha, no brainer!

So what's the scoop on the Alaska cruise? If it fits, and I'm not on duty up north, I'll meet you and the Mrs if you're coming in to Whittier or Seward . . .

Not sure of the dates yet because we are trying to get some airline employee cruise deals. They tend to be last minutes things.

I will let you know ASAP.

I was thinking of chartering a crop duster for the cross country scenery and bringing my poncho, poncho liner and bunjee cords for a hooch right next to the Jockey Club where they're still doing construction.

If I can swing it I'll get the pilot to park next to the Janet terminal and snap some good shots....

Well the Barbary Coast is no more as the land swap deal between Harrah's and Boyd's (The former Westward Ho site for the Barbary Coast) has been approved and the place has been renamed Bill's Gamblin' Hall and Saloon It's being run by the IP folks, so they'll have a players club (Bill's Player Club) that will (much like with the IP) eventually be fully integrated into Harrah's Total Rewards.

http://www.reviewjournal.com/lvrj_ho...02-Fri-2007/business/12903297.html

I'm glad I switched hotels, as the new name sounds like an sawdust joint from really Old Vegas, not a modern day Strip hotel and casino.

Slight change of plans for me.

I will be only staying a day, I'll be there the 24th all day long and will leave late that night.

Then about a week later, I will be there again with the whole family, as the kids have a whole week of vacation during the first week of April.

See you all there!

Hey guys,

Just an update: I'm trying to negotiate a couple of conflicts on this end that are threatening to blow this trip. It's possible that I can do it with a revised itinerary, but I won't know for a couple more days.

If I just flew in for Saturday afternoon and dinner, would I still be allowed?  Sad

We can certainly split the cab.

You go back to BUR, right?

Usually, though I'm known to use LAX if I'm getting hosed on fares to BUR.

Let me check a few and I'll get back to ya. Those times sound pretty workable.

Edit: Duh, you can't fly into BUR that late. Have I mentioned how badly I hate NIMBYs?  Angry

Looks like the latest I'm going to do on that return will be a 9:55pm flight to ONT.

What time was dinner again (I know I asked this before--I have brain damage this week)?

Edit again: Wow... maybe it's worth it to rent a car. Seventeen bucks for the day from Thrifty.
AndesSMF?? Where are ya, man?
I should probably buy a ticket now before the fares suck even worse.

Quoting Saxdiva (Reply 29):

Of course! I'll let you come to Vegas for a day too".  rotfl

That all may work, I'll gamble at the airport for a while to recoup my losses.

Dang, and I can't even reach Mr. Diva to ask him if he's gonna want to go just for the day.

What to do, what to do?

These are the dilemmas I find myself in when I really should be grading papers. Argh.

I got lucky. My missus didn't mind me taking the day to have a little fun. But then again, we'll all be going back a few days later.

Okay, fine.
Now I don't have to worry about whether the rest of the schedule will ultimately pan out.

Arriving LAS: 10:40am on Southwest 712
Departing LAS: 9:55pm on Southwest 2823

Mr. Diva will probably enjoy the day to himself. OR, we can get him a ticket this evening if he feels left out.

In the next update list, could we please include the activities and those who are involved there as well? I know some folks aren't joining the group for dinner or are not participating in the Saturday afternoon activities, so perhaps the list should include that sort of info in addition to the already established attendance list.

Does this not interfere with the RR museum? If not, I'll be there for pictures.

BTW, I don't wear hats...
