I normally would watch the Highlights only.
But Here the Atmosphere is about Large screens at Restraunts.
If India is playing, then the Roads are Empty. In place like BOM thats great for a Drive.

I feel the WI are favourites as they are on Home ground.Although a lot depends on the type of tracks.

Go NZ for me.

This is going to be a very open world cup. Anyone of about 6-8 teams playing in the world cup can win the tournament on their given day with a bit of luck. Sure there will be favourites but as we have seen of late, it really is anyone's game and anyone's tournament for that matter.

Very much looking forward to it  Smile

He's totally correct, I don't think Australia will be good enough this year.

On the other hand, England, India and West Indies are playing really well.

I think its going to be one of those 3 teams.

I would think England remain fairly brittle. They've put together four good performances, but nothing to say that they're going to be a genuine threat. You might call them the "dark horses" of the competition, possible, but you wouldn't expect it.

Australia's bowling is their weak link, and that's got to be the first time in almost a generation we've said that. Sri Lanka and New Zealand (providing Bond stays fit) have a decent shout, as do India. Host West Indies may yet be on the upturn, God knows what Pakistan are going to do - oh and what a co-incidence that Shoaib and Asif are "unfit" just when another drugs test looms - whilst South Africa look very strong.

Shocks? Kenya might do something, so might Scotland.

We didn't have Shane Warne at the last world cup and we won it. Brett Lee is hardly the be all and end all of the team. Yes it is a big loss to us, but we still have a very strong team. Losing 6 matches is disappointing, but I don't think it's a fair indicator to write off our chances of winning.

I still think AUS are the most likely team to win it, but they are not odds on. The tournament is wide open.

I think NZ's recent performance was good. I would be pleasantly surprised if they were to provide a consistent standard good enough to win a world cup.

I like India and Sri Lanka. Sri Lanka have a decent mix of bowling types now that they never used to have.

England, same comments as NZ, (except the bit about being PLEASANTLY surprised)

Good timing telecasts for me. Looking forward to it!

Seriously man... Even here in USA, its a great timing. We don't actually have to stay up all night just to watch Cricket.

However, no channel is showing it, we still have to order it on Pay Per View  Sad

Plus, I'll be in Ecuador for all the first round matches so i hope India don't lose to Bangladesh and Bermuda...so at least i get to see them in Action.

Actually, since posting, I've checked through the official broadcasters and can't find a single reference to this event being televised in Hong Kong.

Does anyone know otherwise, or will I have to take a 4 week holiday to Singapore just to sit in a hotel room and watch cricket on TV??

With the Ausies and South Africans, def New Zealand and England have recently shown form that puts them in the race. But the Carribean pitches sound like even field for everyone from Asia as well.

That's true. I think though, that the perceived difference is with a four year older Glenn McGrath, a likely to be missing Andrew Symonds and a missing Brett Lee. The bowling just isn't as strong as it was. Nevertheless, anyone writing Australia off is a bit of an idiot.

No lbw is the rule Matt Hayden plays under anyway isn't it?  Wink

But to take an example, the England/Bermuda game wasn't official because although only 11 could bat, an extra two players could bowl, so it was just a friendly, not an official game.

News around the cricketing world is Daniel Vettori may be about to receive the Captains job for New Zealand if they fail in W/C.
