Useless Trivia

Sat Mar 10, 2007 12:51 pm

Simply post bits of trivia.

Mine:

Did you know that 227827 is the 20250th (give or take 1) prime number?

(I'm slightly bored right now)

I believe glass is a fluid, not a liquid.

Well, I may be wrong about that too. From Wikipedia:

"There is no clear answer to the question "Is glass solid or liquid?". In terms of molecular dynamics and thermodynamics it is possible to justify various different views that it is a highly viscous liquid, an amorphous solid, or simply that glass is another state of matter which is neither liquid nor solid."

Another interesting link about the phase of glass:

Actually, if you're refering to the incident I think you are and to be utterly trivial... she wasn't 'fired' by NASA beacuse she wasn't employed by NASA, instead she was 'on loan' from the Navy, so NASA just terminated her duty and returned her to the Navy.

Anyone know what the Navy's return policy is? Is it like 10 years cash back, or is it even-exchange only?  duck

Mapmaking is older than writing.

At latitude 60 degrees south you can sail the entire way around the world.
