Yep, and the restaurant is called Siga la Vaca:
I'm not a big fan of help-yourself, all-you-can-eat restaurants, but this one is impressive, (check out the pics on the site) and great value. It has to have the biggest grill in the world with all kinds of meat, and you can keep going back for more. There's also a good range of salads and pasta to pile on your plate. All of that, including a bottle of wine for two people, for €10 a head! Personally I prefer the ceremony of a conventional restaurant, with the perusing of the menu, starting on the wine while you choose the meal, and the anticpation of the food.
The restaurants in BA
tend to be very traditional, which may not be a bad thing, but we found it hard to find innovative, adventurous food. How and ever, the steaks, as you probably remember, have to be the biggest and best in the world. We lived on them!
Getting around by taxi is very cheap, but just make sure to use a taxi with a functioning meter: one guy had his turned off and tried to charge us 300 pesos (over 70 euro) for a trip lasting less than ten minutes. We said "No gracias", jumped out and got another.
About the hotel, it was perfect for us, but if you are looking for facilities such as a restaurant or bar, or more luxurious accommodation, try elswhere. There's nothing wrong wtih it at all, and like I said, it was central, clean and comfortable, but maybe your standards are higher!
