Next Generation Of Ipod Nano: What Will It Have

Thu Apr 05, 2007 9:15 pm

Is it definitely going to have larger space? I am considering buying a Nano very soon, but there is a small chance I could wait till next September for a 16Gbytes Nano..

Do you need a new iPod now? If so, buy one. If you don't, wait. A 16GB may come eventually. Then again, it may not.

What's your margin of error? A profound commentary, indeed.  laughing

I'm guessing you should leave the Ipod idea and buy the alternative... Sandisk Sansa E200 series.

Too late for that.  Smile My new 8Gbyte Nano is already fully charged and fully loaded with songs.  Smile

But I already found a flaw in the iTunes software: after a selected playlist is synchronized, if I want to remove one song from that playlist, unchecking it does not trigger an automatic synchronization. Rather, I have to remove the entire playlist that I changed from the iPod, and then put it back again, because I unchecked one song.
This means that, for a playlist that is 4Gbytes, if I change my mind about one song, I gotta wait for it to update the whole playlist again (4Gbytes). And if you find that there isn't enough space and need to remove yet one more song, than you have to do it all over again.

But don't get me wrong, the product is as perfect as can be, this is a mere detail. Yes I'd buy it over any other  Smile I bought it for jogging, since it doesn't have a hard disk.

Unless it's an intelligent (rule-based) playlist, you can simply select that playlist within the iPod in iTunes (the iPod shows up with its library and all its playlists next to the ones iTunes itself manages) and delete (not uncheck) the item from the playlist. That's it.

You could also select the library and delete it from there to get rid of it altogether. (Titles deleted from a playlist will still remain in the library.)

Library and playlists can be managed in the same way on the iPod and on your computer if automatic synchronization is off.

Apple - iPhone

Actually, at least in the beginning it won't offer TV as far as we know so far. But that may well just be a matter of time.

Initial cost would apparently be $499,-/$599,- (subsidized).

It may not be right for everyone at the start, but the same could be said about the first iPod as well...

Rude ! What is an Apple Fuji anyway ? Unless it does the shopping and makes the tea, I'm not interested.

Ewuwuw - fruit ! Way too healthy. Unless it smothered in cinnamon and suger and served in a light buttery pastry swimming in rich double cream, apple is bad for you. It's medically proven.

I suspected as much ! Rumours of my fabulousness have NOT been greatly exaggerated. My condolences to the victim of the shooting incident, but he died in a noble cause. At the going down of the sun, and in the morning, we shall remember him.

I am hoping that someday, the nano will no longer exist. And its' competitors.

I think that using one is a way of stating you want the world to stay away and leave you in a small little
anti-social bubble. I don't have anything with headphones or ear-buds or whatever they're called. Not
too long ago I got a telephone offer to switch my mortgage to a new institution and the 'lure' was an iPod.
I declined, and indicated that a) was happy with the existing arrangements, and b) I hate iPods.
The telemarketer was essentially speechless.

A lady that works for me, true tech junkie, has taken to wearing her buds at work. I told her, and once only,
that if I call for her to come to my office (she's across the hall) and there's no response, this will be reflected in her performance review. Perhaps a little harsh, but there you are.
Nostalgia isn't what it used to be.

I completely agree - the world is interesting, dammit - sitting there nodding your head to some mindless music, you miss most of it. I like music, but I don't have to have it pumped into my head 24/7 - the world doesn't need a soundtrack. And if you HAVE to listen to it in a confined space with other people, get some soundproofing - we don't all want to hear it.
