I don't do cigarettes either, but usually a good Friday evening calls for a Guinness and a Romeo and Juliet cigar. When I am feeling cheap though, Swisher Sweets with wood tips usually get the job done well. All in all, I don't smoke too much because my girl absolutely hates it.

Marlboro Lights and Gauloises Blondes (blue pack) for cigarettes. As for cigars, I'm not a real cigar fan, but I wouldn't mind smoking a Cohiba one day.

Like many teenagers in the US, I started on Marlboro Lights. When I hit college, I wandered to Camel Special Lights and Marlboro Medium. Finally, I stuck with Winston Lights for years until I quit.

Are you guys nuts?!?!?!? Don't you know that smoking is the leading cause of all forms of death known to mankind?!?!??!

Seriously though, I prefer Lucky Strikes, but since you can't get them in BC, John Player Special's aren't too bad.

For cigars, a nice Cohiba or Romeo y Julia with a glass of port is quite tasty.

I recently started smoking again due to stress at work, but I'm trying to stick to 4 or 5 cigarettes per day (and I'm keeping to it so far).

My #1 choice are Dunhill International King Size - are they ever expensive (£5.50-5.80 per pack) but they are well worth it. Smooth to the last drag and they burn very slowly.

#2 Choice is Lambert & Butler Silvers - I like the taste but I find they are way too addictive. If I stuck with those I'd be on a pack a day.

I smoke Marlboro Reds or Gauloises Blondes Blue, when I am in Spain I usually smoke Fortuna.

But I will quit with that shit soon, it cost a shitload of money and destroys your health. I rather save the money and go on a nice holiday with it.

Don't smoke cigarettes, but my cigar of choice has to be a Cohiba Robusto.

Of course being Canadian, I can sit in my favourite Havana Cafe/Bar and enjoy not only a great smoke, but the wonderful ambience of Cuba at the same time.

Cant stand cigarettes anymore, but every now and then a simple Hava-Tampa Berry or Captain Black Sweet cigarillos is quite satisfying.

I'm gradually working my way up to a real Cuban!

If I can get them, Dunhills are worth it, but no one sells them around here. All the rest seem to taste about the same, so I stick with Pall Mall Menthol Light 100s these days because they're $29 per carton of 200 at my local discount smoke shop/lotto machine place. They're supposed to go down to $25 per carton in May on some promotion they've been touting (Oregon has incredibly low tobacco taxes for a bunny-hugger state).

I don't smoke cigarettes to often but if I do I prefer an Extra/Ultra light variant. Maybe the odd wine dipped Colt.

A guy at my work smoked JPS and so did his whole family .Most of them are dead now and his teeth are solid brown. That is the only cig I would ever say I wouldn't touch.

IMO it is NOT a great cigar. lately they have been wrapped too tight, making the draw a bit tough. I had some lanceros a while back that were great, but after that I couldn't find any that were worth a dam. I just tossed out half a box of Churchills; there was nothing you could do to make them smokeable.

The green stuff is the last I would quit with, I would even quit drinking beer before.

As for cigarettes: I am definitely a nonsmoker next month, no matter how hard it will be in the first days and weeks. I smoked cigarettes for over 14 years, more than enough! I wasted way too much money and damaged my health for long enough.

Furthermore am I nearly the only one of all my friends (and in my family) who is still smoking, almost everyone else quit or is about to quit.

One of the first signs that you probably spent your money on counterfeit or fake cigars. That's the problem of becoming one of the world's top selling brands. They become one of the first to be faked by the crooks. And of course because they are forbidden in the land of the free (sic), that makes it all the more profiable for smugglers and counterfeiters.

You need to buy them in Havana at la Casa de Habanos so you're assured of getting the real smoke.

Haven't smoked a cigarette in years (even when I did smoke cigarettes, I was a light smoker).

As for cigars, my brand of choice is Helix Blue. I usually smoke their X542, as it's a good mild cigar perfect size for a nice cigar break and not terribly expensive (About $4 a cigar). I will from time to time splurge on a Arturo Fuente. I'll also on occasion smoke a Punch London Club Select (EMS wrapper), which for many years was my cigar of choice.

The first week is hard, as is the second (in my case, the second week was harder, but maybe that was because my g/f quit, too - with me, not with smoking). Then is starts getting better, but you should still avoid trigger situations.
After three months, and weeks after feeling almost perfectly ok without any cigarettes, the craving will most likely hit you like a truck and all of a sudden. In my case, I had an ice cream three months after I quit, and the craving was really bad, albeit only for ten minutes or so. From what I have heard, I wasn't the only one, it's pretty much normal, and many people then start smoking again.

Avoid trigger situations and drink plenty of water, it really helps. If you slip, remember you slipped but didn't capitulate.

As for the tobacco I smoked back then: American Spirit.
