Friday's Stupid Thread - Cleaning Your Dishes

Fri Apr 13, 2007 5:58 pm

So it appears that I clean my dishes using a Spontex (r) sponge and some apple-flavored dishwashing liquid.
What do you use ?

I'm concerned that you deemed it necessary to taste your dishwashing liquid. Perhaps you mean apple scented?

Dishwasher. Life is too short. When we moved into our new unit, there wasn't a dishwasher. Within 2 weeks there was. It leap frogged the 'essentials' list for a new home. If the next place I buy doesnt have a dishwasher, it will by the time I move in.

Actually, in our current climate of drought, a dishwasher is essential in saving water.

For most a dishwasher, but if something says Not Dishwasher Safe, then I drag out the old dish soap and draining board, dust 'em off, and get to work.

My cleaner is away for 2 months so I've resorted to getting dirty items out of the sink and cleaning them as I need them. I've become such a lazy b*****d!

Dishwashers?! Buncha wusses... Big grin

I use a Scotch sponge and a solid dish soap bar.

Uphill both ways, in -30 temps, in summer!

Dishwasher here as well - though the cats seem to willing to do the job if I would just let them on the counter. . .

Snow? WTF is that? I get to enjoy lovely spring weather year-round, thankyouverymuch.  Silly

Besides, it's not like I need a dishwasher machine anyway -- that's what siblings are for.  mischievous

I use Orange scented Dawn Ultra with a two sided sponge (coarse on one side, soft on the other) or a medium bristled dish brush. I wash with lots of hot soapy water and rinse thoroughly under lukewarm water, then leave to drip dry.

Carmenlu....hey, I remember those days!!! lol The only time my sisters and I got into a fight was when we were trying to decide who would wash and who would dry the dishes.

I have a dishwasher....and for all those other items that don't go into a dishwasher I use Sunlight and a J-Cloth!!!

I have a dishwasher in my house, but I never use it. I just clean each dish/glass/utensil/cookery right after use. I'm the only one living here, so how many dishes can I go through. I never let any dishes pile up in the sink. When I used to use one, I always scrubbed the food off before going in becuase just washing a food-caked dish came out with marginal results.

I clean my dishes with Palmolive dishwashing liquid (Oxy Plus variant) and a good dishwashing sponge. Works for me!  cool

As I'm moving out soon, my dishwasher days may soon be over...  cry

Until then, I love my parents' Miele dishwasher...  cloudnine
