Reno Hotel Question

Tue Apr 17, 2007 2:36 pm

On the Comedy Central show "Reno:911" they show the "Biggest Little City In The World" sign and a casino with a rainbow behind the sign. What casino is that?

Don't watch the show but I've been to Reno. Is it Fitzgeralds?

It is Fitzgerald's. Specifically, it's the elevated bridge that went over the train tracks before they were put in a trench below street level.
Giant neon rainbow and purple & green decor notwithstanding, Fitzgerald's does not actively pursue the gay market and instead tends to attract a very, erm..."mature" crowd.

Yes, Fitzgeralds is the one. I looked at several pictures on-line but I never could see the name of the hotel! Thank you.

It never occured to me that the rainbow at Fitzgeralds might be mistaken for a gay symbol. Fitgerald's is an Irish name and the rainbow has to do with Leprachans and the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow which is in the casino of Fitzgeralds. Of course if you are gay, I'm sure they will be glad to take your money also.

They certainly have been thus far. Big grin

Plus, it's kind of cool to know that at 40 I'm still the youngest guest they have.  Wink
