Wouldn't that be friends with benefits? And why would you pay for friends with benefits, let alone just friends?

Most of my friends are from work and school. So you could try being social with co-workers or take a class for the fun of it.

Those are good places. If you have a dog, dog runs are always good places.

Same here, I met most of my friends either in school, or in the football club, or at work. And I got to know many new friends through these old friends from school, football, and work. Best example was a birthday party of a friend some months ago, I met so many people there and nowadays we go together to the football stadium, to concerts, to parties, etc.

Oh yes, there is also A.net.  Wink I met fellow A.netter DTManiac through this site, nowadays we meet frequently for dinner or a few drinks.

Half the trick is being able to talk with people. I meet new people regularly, but I'm the quite and shy type and most of the times if people don't talk to me I usually don't talk to them. One thing I've noticed with myself is that I usually do give open ended answers to questions, meaning they don't ask further questions, and thus the conversation fizzles out.

Well, here in Japan, every Thursday, the City Hall has an english-japanese conversation class for an hour. It's a great way to meet new people and learn their cultures while they're improving their english and learning more about america. I've done one session so far and I plan to do it weekly when I get some free time.

Another way I meet new people is on myspace or facebook. Which 80% of what I spend on the internet, haha.

I make all my friends by searching their flights, tracking them, and meeting them at the terminal.

Most of my friends are from the curling club. Sports teams, gym, etc. are a good place - or any group that has a common interest, because it gives you something to talk about right away.
But that was when I ruled the world

So was he, women more specifically.

You could always try the proverbial walk in to the women's prison with a fistful of pardons. If you can't get a date that way it's a lost cause.
Where are all of my respected members going?
