The Last Restaurant You Ate At?

Wed May 02, 2007 12:21 pm

What was the last restaurant you ate at? If you remember, what did you order, and how was your experience?
for me, it was the Cheesecake Factory last weekend with some of my family. It was my first time at that place and it was very nice. I ordered the Chicken and Biscuits for the main dish, and fried macaroni&cheese as the appetizer. The food is great there and i recommend that place to everyone  Smile

Mine would have to be Cheesecake Factory as well, in Durham, NC! I am a shareholder for CAKE and love the place! Next time, try the Orange Chicken and/or Thai Lettuce Wraps-- some of the best things on the menu!

Denny's in Reno, Nevada. I always stop there on the way to the airport, plus it may be the only restaurant in Nevada that serves grits.

Sino Restaurant in Santana Row, San Jose. It's a high-end dim sum restaurant. I can't recall the names (a bunch of small servings), all I know it was good.

I've been to Quinton's to drink, but never tried their food. Cheap prices?

We had lunch on Sunday at the Town Bar and Grill, Dublin. I had the tuna carpaccio to start, lamb cassoulet for mains and bread and butter pudding to finish. Great, except for the mediocre cassoulet.

I went to Oregano's where I ordered a Meatball Sandwich. I split a Pizookie (Deep Dish pizza pan filled with cookie dough, baked, then topped with Vanilla Ice cream) with my roommate.

Then we went out to The Tavern in Tempe for a few beers.

The last restaurant I ate at was the Pommodoro in Escazú. One of the best Italian restaurants I tend to go every now and then. Before that, it was the Sensu restaurant at the Real Cariari mall, where I ate sushi for the first time in my life. I might go there this friday again, because some of my work mates want to invite someone to eat there for a birthday celebration, plus my work mates are obsessed with Japanese food (especially the sushi).

to be honest, i'm quite a fan of the roadhouse. i think they do a good job. Lafayette kind of lacks it when it comes in selections for things to eat. and there's not a whole lot that is convenient to the mall without having fight traffic going down Creasy Lane, and thus since roadhouse is right there, we just started going and kind of got hooked.

Lafayette still has one of my favorite 2am places to eat though --- Triple X rootbeer. we'll often drive down at night from Lake Shafer/Lake Freeman and feast on pancakes. yum.

I had a Mayday lunch with 2 friends (I forget the name of the place as I hadn't been there before).

We had a bottle of Bollinger GA as an appetiser and with the first courses,
my first course was a creamy mushroom soup with artichoke foam
my main course was grilled meat (150g) with a mushroom sauce, potato puree and some grilled vegs, with which I had a glass of a very full-bodied Argentinian red.
lastly I had just coffee and a mint.

My own bill was about 85 euros in the end.

The Bomber

Below is a picture of it in its heyday. Yup, that's a B-17 suspended over the Texaco pumps. The front section was taken down a few years ago for restoration, and they've stopped selling gas, but the grub is okay. I had a patty melt and fries for lunch there on Monday. (The restaurant is in the building behind it.)

Last Sunday afternoon at the Boston Market in Primos (Upper Darby Twp.), PA. Had the 8oz. sirlion w/dill potatoes & garlic spinach; very good.

If the ordering at the register than taking your food to a table disqualifies the above; the last sit-down restaurant I was at was the Ruby Tuesdays in Holmes, PA near the Glenolden border nearly a month ago. I had the seafood combo platter w/shrimp & salmon. Very good.

Last month, it was in Paris, Place de la concorde.
Restaurant "Les Ambassadeurs", hotel de Crillon.
Chef is Jean Francois Piege, and I hope he will get his 3 stars in the Michelin nxt year (this year, he has only 2+)
The menu was based on the truffle.

Crap! I forgot the name of the place, but it's your typical 5 star sushi place in middle of nowhere Japan. A buddy of mine and I decided sushi for dinner, this was 2 hours ago at a local joint here, and I truly think that this was the best sushi and sashimi I ever comsumed including live small fish. I can still feel them swarming in my stomach. Typical Japanese style place, where you take your shoes off and sit on the floor, chefs were great, the waitress were awesome, yet very beautiful but didn't understand english, which was fine. $30 for the meal for two people worth of sushi, overall, I loved it...probably my favourite so far in town.

We were visiting relatives in Baltimore last weekend and they took us to a crab restaurant - "Mr. Bill's Terrace Inn".

It was one of those places that looks unremarkable on the outside such that you'd be unlikely to try it on the fly. But our relatives had a word-of-mouth recommendation and it was a memorable dining experience, even if the crabs were not local at this time of the year.
