Where are the calls of treason from the right?

Exactly.

I think it's a great thing that Ms. Rice and the administration she represents finally seem to be catching on. They may be baby steps, but this is encouraging.

I assume you are referring to that "Expletive deleted" Pelosi's trip.....

Trying to work foreign policy is not part of her job description. She wasn't elected to do that. And she wasn't elected to her position by all Americans, only those that unfortunately live in her district.

Shouldn't all americans have a say in who works their foreign policy. That is why it is constitutionally in the purview of the administration, not the congress.

It is Condi's job to work foreign relations, that is why she is the Secretary of State. Appointed to her position by the president, who all Americans get a chance to vote for. She is the designated "point man" in this regard.

From the link:

"The meeting marks an abrupt change in the policy of U.S. President George W. Bush, who stopped contacts with Syria on the grounds that Damascus had not complied with U.S. demands."

Perhaps Speaker Pelosi's trip made the President realize he had some catching up to do. If so, well done.

Do you honestly believe that this is a real answer to the question of why Pelosi's trip was called an act of treason, and this visit was endorsed? If you do, I have some fiction books I have been writing I want you to proof read. Why is it that every President before this one has sent or allowed "unofficial" emisaries to hostile territories to try and work things out?
