I have no clue about the taxi fare but from Charles de Gaulle you can easily take the RER train to Le Bourget, it is definitely cheaper and also pretty comfortable (see the Paris Air Show website for detailed information).

Same here, a friend and me finally booked a hotel room a few days ago. And the most important thing arrived two days ago:

depends on your situation, me and daleholic will be sharing a taxi and splitting the taxi price which will make it cheaper, but if theres anyone else who wants to share feel free to let me know as it will become even cheaper

I can imagine that a taxi is still more expensive than the RER train, even when you split the price.

Here is the RER information from the Paris Air Show website:

From Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport:

- Take the RER B to Le Bourget station
- Then take the Paris Air Show shuttle or Bus 152
- Get off at Michelet-Parc d’Expositions

As you can see, it is very easy to get to LBG from CDG by train, personally I wouldn't waste money for a taxi. By the way, you can even walk to Le Bourget airport from Le Bourget train station, fellow A.netter B747-437B and me did it two years ago because the shuttle busses were jam-packed, we walked approx. 15 minutes which is ok IMO (just follow the masses when you don't know the way ).

A friend and me arrive on Saturday afternoon, I guess everyone is already at the show then.

- No entrance fee
- Access to the press center (free drinks, food, internet, etc.)
- Access to the press gallery (overlooking the runways and static display)
- We can stay at the show till 7PM instead of 6PM
- Some more extras which are more or less uninteresting for us

Patrick

PS: Bring enough drinks and food, it is expensive as hell when you buy it at the show, I think I paid more than 10 EUR for a small bottle of water and a tuna sandwich two years ago. Tip: There is a small Moroccan supermarked close to Le Bourget train station, there you can get a 1 liter bottle of water for just a few Cents.

I to will be attending this show. (Kind of last minute thing really) and have secured a press pass. I have, however never been to this particular air show and was wondering if anyone had any advice on what kind of equipment to bring? I was thinking something like 17-40mm, 70-200 and 100-400 so far. I am pondering on whether to bring the 500mm prime, but it is a bit of a beast to lug around and i know from past experience (Farnborough) that trying to follow the faster aircraft was far from easy with it. Also will there be a dedicated media area for photographers set up with un-restricted views over the field? Im still wondering how to get from Paris to the airshow by Eurostar from London - Paris Nord. I will be flying home from CDG-LHR on BA. (The only flight out bound I could have got was a 6.20am dep which i wasn't overly happy about doing!) Any help is much appreciated. Thanks

Apparently, you can get the Paris Air Show shuttle direct from CDG.

I think this extract was from the exhibitors PDF on the Paris Air Show website,

How to get to the Show by public transport

--------------------------------
Paris Air Show shuttle buses (only available during the Show, from 18th to 24th June 2007)
The Organizer will be providing a shuttle bus service between Paris and the Show. More information on fares and routes will be available in the near future.
• Shuttle buses from Terminals 1, 2B and 2F of Roissy/Charles de Gaulle airport to the Show and back, with departures every 45 minutes
.• Shuttle buses from Paris/Porte Maillot to the Show and back, with departures every 45 minutes
--------------------------------

I must see if this is true, ive emailed the Paris Air Show many times but have had no reply about the Shuttle service.
Bit worried about gettig on the 152 bus and going past the stop.

Don't know about the special shttle, but they will probably be there.
Another option is the RATP Bus line 350. It will drop you just at the door of the airshow.
You can check the various options (trin + bus, or bus only) on the RATP website.
http://www.ratp.info/informer/anglais/index.php
For the origin, specify aeroport de Roisssy CDG (then you will have to choose the terminal on a next screen)
For the destination, select Musee de l'Air et de l'Espace LE BOURGET.

And Alipio, I think your 26 EUR estimation is very optimistic. The distance between CDG and my house is shorter than between CDG and LBG. I have no traffic jam at the time I take the taxi, and I pay already between 25 and 30.
So you can probably count on 35 to 40, and a very unhappy driver (you force him to go in traffic jams....)

Hi all,
We paid €45 two years ago, but there were some congestion. By the way and at that time, most of the cab drivers were disappointed when asked for "Le Bourget". I will this year either take the bus/RER or the Shuttle.

Now maybe we could setup some sort of mini-meet on Saturday, at least for a part of the day? Let me know if there is some interest regarding that.

I'm in. It seemed like a lot of us were arriving around 9AM at CDG. We all should meet up in the terminal and go from there.

Alipio, this is one way. For that price, no chance the driver will wait for you one full day....
