Holiday Suggestions

Wed May 16, 2007 11:44 am

So I'm thinking of getting out of Australia, or atleast Canberra for a few days in June or July. The main criteria are, it has to be somewhere warm and very cheap. Obviously, my preference is to fly, being a member here and all. I would also perfer to travel overseas, or atleast to Northern Australia. I've got enough FF points (miles) to get to HNL, SIN, HKG or BKK. And probably quite a few other places.

Why don't you go to Fiji? Its cheap, and warm...and not too far away. If you have enough FF miles to go to HNL, then go there. I don't think its cheap though...last time we stopped there (in 2002) cost 200 bucks for a hotel room.

The airfares to Goa make it prohibitively expensive. Fiji is an option

Of course. I wouldn't dare travel to asia without it.

Ah man, definitely get out of Canberra, I studied abroad there and it was quite the experience. I agree with the Fiji suggestion, easy and pretty cheap to get to, and cheap while you're there. Though if you want more of adventure, I would highly recommend Cambodia. Get to it before the tourists hordes ruin it

If you have any questions or want to see pics of Cambodia feel free to contact me - I spent a fair bit of time there.

I would have suggested a trip to dubai but then calling dubai cheap would be ironic. Fiji seems to be a good choice but if your willing to be adventurous I would suggest Vancouver, its a great place to be in the summer.

How about Malaysia, if you go in the next few month you might try the East Coast of the Peninsular or Borneo, both are very nice. You might be able to combine it with something in South East Asia (eg. Cambodia).

Stay at your home.
It is cheap.
It is safe.
And you have better seat comfort in your sofa than on any F-class airline.

I will look into this. South East Asia is the most likely destination.
