Impressive Safari Video (Buffalo Vs Lions Vs Croc)

Tue May 22, 2007 8:31 am

It gets really good around the 5:30 mark, and I did not see the ending come out the way it did.

Man that video makes me happy, i dont wanna sound like an idiot but that video IMO shows the truimph of good over evil, i really loved it how the buffalo's got together and gave the lions a scare, made my day, need to watch for of these instead of lions and cheetah's viciously killing their prey, we need to have something like "prey strike back".

And the irony is, the lions saved the little one from the croc!

absolutely stunning video and very rare to have witnessed such an incredible incident.
That small buffalo saved from the croc by lions and then rescued by the troop has most likely never been filmed. Those Australians were extremely lucky to be there at the right moment.
But to call lions or the croc the "evil" is somewhat erroneous, since in nature there is no good or evil -it's all part of balance and live and die...

Yeah ofcourse, but there is a feeling of revenge within me to get back at those lions for attacking the weak calf. Besides, how the hell did the calf survive after getting bitten on the neck by three to five lions? simply amazing.

The calf probably died later anyway from its wounds or after infection set in. A truly amasing video. Hopefully when I have enought time I am going to Afreca on safari.
It's not a near miss it's a near hit!!

I am going to Africa on safari.

I intend to do that as well, taking pictures of the wildlife and just viewing the beauty and the awesome characteristics of nature is something i look forward to viewing. East Africa and Southern Africa are absolutely filled with incredible animals, what i want to see is a cheetah chasing down a wilderbeest, and bringing it down. Wilderbeest piss me off.

Try Botswana and the Okavanga delta plus one or two local game-parks -they are less crowded and quite spectacular.
Many South Africans come to Botswana, claiming the country is the best for wildlife watchers..
Issue with parks like the Krüger Park-they are so huge you can drive for hours and hours, not meeting any of the "big five"..
But then it's also a question what species of animals you'd like to see - no Gorillas in South or East-Africa (except Rwanda which is rather Central African highland ,you are asked to spend a day climbing into the rain-forrest where the Mountain-gorillas live )
Once you've encountered free living wild-live ,you will have a complete different opinion about protection of environment, animals and the needed steps to keep their habitat intact.
TV is one thing-seeing and hearing and feeling them close-by in the wilderness is a real adventure !
