Anchor Stone Phillips Out At NBC News

Wed May 23, 2007 5:28 am

What a shame! I'm gonna miss that sexy voice and of course great looks. I'm sure he'll find work soon. He is a great anchor.

It's a shame NBC is not renewing his contract.

His voice cadence, rhythm, and inflections were so damned annoying that I couldn't tolerate him. Maybe they'll hire someone who doesn't try to pretend to sound like my grandfather telling a war story.

I suspect that in the news division there is a lot of pressure from GE bosses to cut overhead costs as the division is probably not a money maker. They will probably use someone they already have or bring in someone from an affilliate for a much smaller salary.

I was actually surprised that he lasted this long. From day one when he was introduced on the Today Show by Katie, he just seemed so fake..
