Just Saw Pirates!

Fri May 25, 2007 1:22 pm

I just saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3. Thought some parts were drawn out a little too much, but still an exciting movie to go see. I recommend you see it if you saw the first two, it will have a suprise ending for you.

I Just saw it too, It was very hard to understand, but it was still very good. The ending definatley points toward another movie, it's hard to belive they won't make another one.

I saw it yesterday. It had a very powerful beginning scene, and I was buzzing after I walked out of the theatre despite the length (which I didn't really notice during the film). The action scenes were great. It had a few bits that I thought were a little silly, but I laughed out loud every time someone got murdered in an amusing way, or when Capt Jack said something random just like the first two. The arrival of Jack's dad (Brilliant casting btw) was an example of that. I'm deciding if I like the innocence of the first (which i watched a few days ago, or the darkness and terrific action of this one. I think I'm liking this the most though. A special mention to 'Jack' the monkey too, he was great.

It was crazy to follow all the switching sides, double crossing, alliances, ect. I'm glad that all goes to hell and the world is simple to understand again in the end.  Smile

I hope not, but they left it open in case. I like having this be the end. Let everyone dream up what adventures come next on their own. Everyone is left royally screwed at the end of this movie, lets leave it like that.  Smile

When I first saw him, dressed in red, he reminded me of captain hook. I was glad he didn't end up having a hook, I would have laughed out loud at that.

That was the one thing that annoyed me a bit. Knowing they won't make another one...All i want is Closure!!!

Probably the best acting i've seen....from a Monkey.

At the beginning of the film she pulls a 12 inch pistol out of her kaka.

Not kidding.

The words "I think I'm in love" were heard in the cinema at that point of the film.

Kermode utterly despised 1 & 2, so that's no surprise. His ant-Pirates rants are in fact a legendary part of the programme.

Indeed. Exactly as he was for 1 & 2. Big grin

Regular listeners have known for years that all you have to do to inspire a truly epic Kermode rant is send in an email saying how wonderful Pirate of the Caribbean is. A true Kermode rant is the reason we all tune in in the first place.  yes

++++++++++ SPOILER ALERT +++++++++++++

Okay, here's what came at the end of the credits.

====================================

We see a young boy walking down a meadow on an island toward a cliff overlooking the sea. He's about ten years old and is singing the "Pirates life for me" song to himself. The boy is played by the same actor as the child who was hanged at the beginning of the film. He's followed by Elizabeth who stands behind him as they look out across the ocean at sunset. The sun goes down and we see a flash of green light. The Dutchman appears and Will gazes toward the island. We then see Elizabeth and the boy looking toward the ship excitedly.

End.

When will you kids ever learn? You NEVER leave until 30 seconds AFTER the credits are done. Most movies have things like outtakes, a teaser, or a funny bit after the credits are done.

Went to see it last night and I really enjoyed it, although there were some scenes that were a bit drawn out. I didn't get to see the bit after the credits because as soon as they started rolling there was a stampede for the exits (it was midnight after all!)

Yeah I was amused when he was laying out his demands to Davy Jones and the wigged wimp, I was thinking "you are such a girl who will take you seriously?" LOL

Apparently there was a deleted scene with a conversation between Calypso and Davy Jones explaining that the curse could be broken if the Dutchman's captain's lover was faithful for the whole ten years.

I fully agree with RadArrows... I was hugely disappointed with the 2nd and 3rd films, as at times, it became hard to understand what was happening.

The 3rd film didn't really contain many funny scenes. For me the funniest part of the film for me was 'Mr Gibbs, you may throw my hat............ Now go get it!'

The first film for me was the best out of the 3. BTW welcome to a.net RedArrows.

thanks for the welcome LegoGuy,anyway the reason the 2nd and 3rd dissapointed me so much was because of how little they reminded me of the 1st,the first had the right blend of comedy and action,for the second and third they try too hard with the comedy and the story just seems to be made up as it goes along
