I'm thinking of going since I'll be in London then. Can someone help me? It is better to take the train to Paris (Eurostar) or fly to CDG?

What's closer to the show? Will the show be so packed that it is enjoyable? Thanks.

Will be arriving from Nice via Zurich on June 17th Flight Swiss 656 landing @ CDG2B 5.55 PM. Planning to be at the Paris air show on June 18/19, leaving on the 20th back to ZRH (stopover).

From my experience, I find the first two PRO days are best as less crowded and more goodies available, people in the stands much less stressed out which makes for a more friendly/nicer atmosphere.

For those going to the flight demos, the public days are much better as there is a lot more of that than on the PRO days.

I was on the Eurostar website and for US$278.00 round trip

London -> Paris
Depart: Sat 23rd Jun 2007 - 07:37
Arrive: Sat 23rd Jun 2007 - 11:23

Paris -> London
Depart: Sat 23rd Jun 2007 - 20:43
Arrive: Sat 23rd Jun 2007 - 22:28

total price (USA $) $278.00

I never been to the airshow but would like to go in a few years. how far is the show from Paris Nord?

hope it helps.

Does anyone want to meet up on Saturday evening at downtown Paris? A friend and me have press passes and a boatload of invitations from many different exhibitors so I think that we won't have time for a meeting during the show on Sunday, thus Saturday would be the best time for an A.net meeting.

A friend and me stay at the Suitehotel CDG Paris Nord 2. We paid 99 EUR for a double room which is ok in my opinion. They do of course offer a free airport shuttle.

So far:

Germany together with the USA: a 3 person team
England together with Scotland: a 4 person team

Result: Team "Germany/USA" retire to enjoy a joint after Team England/Scotland (what's the name of their union, btw.?  Wink ) went to bed! Big grin

By the way, is anyone bringing some weed or am I (fucking again) the idiot who has to do the dirty work? No problem if... I am used to it.  Wink

Ok, I'm gonna try and sneak across for this. I've got a bunch of vendors who want to meet me and even a couple of manufacturer chalet invites, but believe-it-or-not, there is more fun to be had with a bunch of a/netters. I shall probably be accompanied by a colleague from the company though, but I don't doubt that he/she would want to join us.

There are a lot of snack bars, I can't remember but I think the 0.33l can of (warm) Stella came for 3.50 EUR two years ago.

Was this from a snackbar or an actual bar set up by the even organisers?

It was a regular snack bar in the public area. I hung out there with N1120A, Teahan, and two other A.netters which names I can't remember anymore, maybe the other guys remember the exact price for a can of beer.

Quoting Daleaholic (Reply 38):

Not really, two elderly ladies managed the aforementioned snack bar, no beer on tab there and just a couple of disgusting tuna and cheese sandwiches.  Sad

A general tip to everyone: Bring your own drinks and snacks, there are a couple of supermarkets on Le Bourget main street which is only 7-10 minutes away from the gates.

You will need 4 visas for France: A work visa, a tourist visa, an entry visa, and a Discover Card... ok, that last one wasn't a Visa  duck

no Visa needed, but you will need to remember they're not called "freedom fries" here.

Me, the gf and two others who may or may not be members are on the disgustingly early BA out of LHR on the 23rd, three of us in club, one in coach.

We then leave at assorted times (BA f**ked up) on the sunday evening. I believe 18:00 and 21:00

We are booked at some hotel in Paris - which seems suitable.

Hope to see people there!!!

Quoting PAHS200 (Reply 11):
I never been to the airshow but would like to go in a few years. how far is the show from Paris Nord?

Le Bourget is between Paris Nord and CDG on train (RER) line B. About 15 mins from either CDG or Paris Nord. Choose your mode of transport based on where you're coming from, where you're staying and price.
When all's said and done, there'll be more said than done.
