Famous Street Intersections

Fri Jun 08, 2007 1:55 am

Here's a few I can think of:

Haight & Ashbury (The Mecca of Hippie culture; Summer of Love 40th Anniversary coming soon)
Hollywood & Vine (Walk of Fame is centered)
Florence & Normandie (Flashpoint of 1992 LA riot)
Michigan & Balbo (Flashpoint of 1968 riot; "The whole world is watching")
Mission & Fletcher (El Pollo Loco of Hayward)

Quoting Confuscius (Thread starter):
Haight & Ashbury

What a shame the corner is defaced with a huge eyesore of a store called The Gap.
Yeah it's based here but Don Fisher represents the opposite of what the Haight was all about.

Danforth & Pape
Perhaps some Toronto area members may know about this intersection.
It's the 7th section of the instrumental La Villa Strangiato by Rush.

The intersection of 1st Street and 1st Avenue!

THE NEXUS OF THE UNIVERSE!

Quote:
KRAMER: I think it's over. We had a big fight, she threw me out, I started walkin', and now I'm lost downtown! I don't have any money. I don't recognize anybody. I miss home, and I don't even know how to get there.

JERRY: What's around you?

KRAMER: I'm lookin' at Ray's Pizza. You know where that is?

JERRY: Is it Famous Ray's?

KRAMER: No. It's Original Ray's.

JERRY: Famous Original Ray's?

KRAMER: It's just Original, Jerry!

JERRY: Well, what street are you on?

KRAMER: Hey, I'm on first and first. How can the same street intersect with itself? I must be at the nexus of the universe.

JERRY: Just wait there. I'll pick you up, and, Kramer, stay alive no matter what occurs, I will find you!

KRAMER: Aah!

US1 and Viera Blvd. http://maps.google.com/maps?um=1&tab...%20boulevard%20rockledge%20florida

I have seen more accidents here than anywhere else in Florida.
