Al Gore, Biggest Hypocrite Ever?

Wed Jun 13, 2007 7:08 am

What can be said. The biggest Hypocrite ever? This is a video of Al Gore, in 1992, on the campaign trail talking about how George Bush 41 ignored Iraq and its WMD, terrorism link, and everything else he is now currently slamming Bush 43 over. Keep in mind, he said all this BEFORE becoming VP, never did a damn thing about it, and yet today, says everything Bush 43 has done in Iraq was nothing but a lie.

This is an amazing, eye opening video.

How can one simply believe this man on Global Warming after watching this video?

I figured all politicians were inherently hypocritical. You can take a quote from anyone, especially someone who's been around as long as Gore, and then find another comment from him that seemingly contradicts the original point.

He was one boring guy back then too, I'll give you that.

Now, to hell with the thought of being any kind of apologist for Gore, but let me ask you two questions:

1. If you feel strongly about an issue based on current information, and slam the opposition for it, and then change your mind over the course of many years, find evidence that contradicts your previous views, and then slam the administration for being wrong in light of new evidence, does that make you a hypocrite?

2. If you go one step further and admit you've changed your mind based on new evidence, does that automatically make you a flip-flopper?

Now I'll ask you one more question:

3. What the @#$% do you expect out of politicians?

Biggest hypocrite ever is just throwaway hyperbole. All of these guys are hypocrites to the nth degree. Look at the PotUS - we have to go after Saddam because he has no respect for international law, yet we're going to give blanket amnesty to 10 million illegal aliens living in the US. Makes absolutely no sense.

I haven't seen the email but apparently one did the rounds just after his 'Inconvenient Truth' movie that went into detail about how he uses an enormous amount of energy he uses at his mansion that he lives in, yet he goes on in the movie about global warming. If anyone can furnish it - thanks.

I dislike being talked to like a child as much from the younger Gore as I do the older Gore.

If his movie convinces even a few hundred people to start thinking green then it the net result would still be serious benefit. But, I don't expect anybody to cut Gore any slack, at least not any anti-liberal Americans. I really wouldn't feel so bad about people still bashing Gore if Bush had been held to the exact same standard during his election run and presidential terms. If Bush had been held to the same standard Gore was from day one then Bush wouldn't have received a five year honeymoon when everyone was pretending he wasn't a complete idiot. What makes it even worse is that, unlike Gore, Bush even sounds like an idiot in front of hand-picked crowds. Just imagine if Bush had been expected to routinely defend himself in front of non-Republicans week after week instead of only cozying up to his "base?" In any case the worlds biggest hypocrite, both figuratively and literally, is probably Rush Limbaugh. You know, the angry anti-drug-addict who was also a...drug addict.

In 1992 Saddam actually had WMDs, but the UN inspection process very effectively removed them. As it turned out after 2003, he never managed to stock up again.

Hence no reason for the 2003 invasion, its "urgency" founded on those WMDs which in fact had not existed since 1992.

Where is the "hypocrisy" in that?

Really? The UN inspection process removed them? Exactly (1) How did they remove them, and (2) where did they put them?

I ask, because if the UN actually did do something, which would be a shock, then how in 2003 did no one say "well, Iraq hasn't had WMD since we rid them of them in 1992. We all know that"

Thats something I've never heard..

Let me help you fix your thread title:

This could be the title of the Republican party that up until the last 7 years was supposed to be based on:

"Hands-off" regulation of business as much as possible

Small government

Fiscal Responsibility

Minimal pork barrell spending

Instead we have:

Hard-core laws like Sarbines-Oxley that impede business.

8.8 TRILLION dollars in debt, and selling ourselves to the Chinese and the rest of the world to support our excessive spending, while mortgaging our children's future.

The creation of a monolithic "Homeland Security" that has massive overhead and communication issues. (Why do we always need a new term for everthing, this was known as Civil Defense or National security, but a "cool" name allows for more spending).

Building a giant fence for "Security" that miraculously only fully covers California, causing more issues for Arizona, New Mexico and Texas.

I am all for security and I support our government, but hypocrasy is everywhere.

For the record, Al Gore is a Hypocrite as his mansion in Belle Meade has I think a 13,000 a year gas/electric bill as was printed in the Tennessean several months ago.

I remember talking to an Tennessee Good Ol boy once that gre up around the Gore farm and said to me "You know the funny thing was...folks were always going up to the Gore farm to buy a cow, but he always seemed to have the same number no matter what"

He also pays extra to have "100% green power." Something like $1600 more per month, I think it was.

Yeah one of those feel good fees, yeah I'm sure that $1600 really removes the footprint of his 10,000 sq foot mansion that he himself is rarely in. Still he doesn't seem to want to confront his BS his McMansion.......

And careful what you say about Mr. Gore - He could very well be our next president.

Regardless of what was said in 1984, 1988, 1992, there was really no tie to Al Qaeda, even General Powell said that.
