TIME Magizine 27 JUN 07

(Yes, I realize this took place 24 years ago)

In a nutshell: Romney strapped his dog in a dog carrier to the family station wagon for a 12 hour drive.

Another article on the incident from the Washington Post: (starts at bottom of page 1)

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn...le/2007/06/29/AR2007062900693.html

His explanation says it all:

Quote:
"He scrambled up there every time we went on trips," Romney said at a campaign stop in Pittsburgh Thursday. "He got it all by himself and enjoyed it."

Yep, I'm sure the dog enjoyed 12 hours in a cage, enduring 50-some mph winds, many of them while he was soaking wet.  Yeah sure

Given the choice between that and sitting next to Romney for that long, I might take the roof too!  silly
